Disappearances can be deceiving.

UPDATE: Want to keep listening to the eerie soundtrack of Kona even after the cold winds have died down? Then go ahead and grab it - it's now available for purchase separately.

Kona, a survival/exploration adventure of supernatural thrills and natural chills, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com!

Private detective Carl Faubert was just looking to make an easy (Canadian) buck. But soon after he arrives in Northern Quebec to investigate the alleged wrongdoings of the local community against the cruel industrialist who desecrated their land, things take a sinister turn. And then another one. And another.

NOTE: Kona is the first of four games that will be taking place in the same setting.

Great to see this game come out of in dev. status and reach a full product. Great game with great feedback.
I'm really glad I supported Parabole by buying their game when it was in-dev, day one. Really communicative studio, they poured a lot of love and hard work into their game, and it definitely shows. If the in-dev version is anything to go by, the full-fledged game is going to be awesome.

If you're an adventure game fan that doesn't mind some minor survival elements, and if you enjoyed games like The Vanishing of Ethan Carter (albeit with more traditional kind of puzzles), you'll probably love Kona. I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

I am not even shitting here, those screen shots all look like I could have gone out and taken them in my yard this morning. :P

As for the game, can't push the $20 right this minute, but it looks very very nice and on the wishlist she goes.
Fair pricing and sundtrack? Neat.

Wishlisted for now, waiting for more reviews and info. :)
If you're an adventure fan, this is well worth your time.

The devs have taken the time to craft the small details, like books on shelves, photos on the wall, etc., but they didn't forget about story and gameplay while making this little slice of alternate 1970s Canada.

As an In Dev purchaser, I can tell you I've already spent over 4 hours in the last pre-release build, and I don't think I was close to the end of the pre-release content, much less the whole game. (I probably could have rushed through as far as I've gotten in 2 hours, but I enjoy exploring those little details.)
Wasn't this released a couple of months ago?

Yes, as an "in dev" game. The full game is released today on GOG and on Steam.

I thought it was released as early access a year or so ago.

An updated "partial final" build was released a couple of months ago, containing the first part of the content, so InDev backers would be able to have a save game compatible with the final release. The prior beta build couldn't be made compatible.

Ah and that was a news post?
That's probably what I remember.

Yes.
I guess it's time to give this a proper whirl then. What little I played of it in in-dev I really liked.

For everyone who is on the fence of buying this I also give this to consider: The dev is really worth supporting. They really poured their heart into this game and have communicated really well during the in-dev period.
I wish I had bought this when it was in In-dev but they called it Kona Day One back then and that was a bit confusing. Nice to see it's out as full release, might get it in a couple months during the summer sale.
Nice to finally see a proper release for this. It was the first in-Dev title I bought here ( like a year ago? ), and I've been looking forward to the finished game ever since.

I never downloaded any of the unfinished versions, since I didn't want any spoilers for the final release. Since I waited for so long, would it be best to wait a few more weeks for any potential patches, or is the game already nicely polished up?

Either way, congrats to the dev team -- hopefully the game will be a big success!
