Very nice release! Thanks GOG and publisher!
One of the best releases this year has finally arrived!
Is it locked at 30fps like crusaders?
Might end up on my wishlist. How long do you need to play "through" the game ? And are the campaigns worth it or is it kinda if you have done 1 you have done all? (i did not have a lot of touch points with Kingdom Under Fire Series yet so really curios regarding that)
The custom/skirmish mode is heavily bugged. Most of the enemy parameter selections don't seem to work. Hopefully they fix it soon.

About 30 hours if you're new to these games. This game is speedrunable though. There is also a "open ended" mode where you can make your own battles.

However, this version of the game does require some fixing from the devs, as some people mention that it crashed during early missions. Might as well hold off for it for a week or so.

Crusaders has been fixed from all known bugs through 6 patches.

Thanks for the good summary!
How do these games play? I never really encountered them. They look like some of the side-games by Koei.

You play as a leader. You control groups of units around, which function kinda like platoons or squads composed of single unit types similar to Total War games. So you have a soldier platoon and archer platoon. You control these groups by pressing a specific button and then picking a place on the map. However, once the leading group in which you belong to gets attacked, the game turns into battle mode where you fight enemies like you know in Koei games.

Note that both of these modes are seemless, which means you can jump from one to the other at any moment. However, you can not leave your leader group and walk around like you're alone like with Koei games with the same amount of chaos.

I think that the first 5 minutes of this YouTube video sums the gameplay up nicely.
