And the Universe star(e)s back at you

J.U.L.I.A. Among the Stars, a narrative-driven sci-fi adventure game about unlocking the mysteries of a foreign solar system, is now available DRM-free on GOG.com for Windows and Linux, with GOG Galaxy support for achievements and a 50% launch discount.

It is the most carefully-laid plans that usually go awry in the most catastrophic manner. Top astrobiologist Rachel Manners wakes up from a decades-long cryogenic sleep inside a massive space probe, fully equipped and meticulously designed to carry out a recon mission on a solar system similar to our own. The rest of the crew is gone, the space ship is heavily damaged, and Rachel has no idea where in the universe she is. But perhaps J.U.L.I.A., the ship's A.I., does.

Rachel sets out to explore six exotic planets, accompanied by the hulking MOBOT, a reconnaissance robot that was built specifically for this mission. She must solve dozens of puzzles, overcome the obstacles of the unfamiliar terrain, and gather clues, in order to learn the reasons behind the mission's apparent failure and her crew's demise. How come she is the only one who survived? Did the mysterious signal that got them here have anything to do with all this? And how long will she manage to put up with J.U.L.I.A.'s shenanigans?

Join a lonely astronaut, a huge robot, and a temperamental A.I. as they venture in J.U.L.I.A. Among the Stars, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 50% launch discount will last until April 13, 1:59 PM UTC.
BUMP on board..

EDIT: The game looks VERY nice but I'm a bit suspicious about OS (modern, DX10) vs hardware (128MB VRAM 1 GB RAM) requirements...Is everything ok on a game card?

I'm generally not a huge adventure fan, but I am a Space/Sci-fi fanatic, so I'll probably end up getting, and trying this at some time....looks interesting
Where is the bonus standalone puzzle game J.U.L.I.A.: Untold? It's not in the bonus section and there's no option for it in the GOG installer. Is it included in the main game?
About 80% through the game (bought during the insomnia sale). Well worth the $9.99 intro discount. Gorgeous and nice gameplay. No 'hidden object" scenes. Puzzles are sufficiently varied and merged pretty well into the storyline.

However, GOG, why doesn't J.U.L.I.A. Untold show up in my library?

It's not included in the game, or at least in the Linux build of the game. :\

I've opened a thread in this game's subforum, but nobody from GOG has replied. Maybe I should open a support ticket...
Never heard of this before, but it looks awesome.
Good job getting JATS. I played it through on a relative's PC before and it's definitely one of the more interesting modern adventure games.

Well, there's no free movement in this game (think something like Myst), so it technically cannot be a walking simulator (unless you suffer from extreme stroboscopic visual perception, that is :P)

Thanks! ;)

There should be a launcher within the game...

For the Linux version, there will be a separate desktop shortcut created and you can also run the game via a separate terminal command :)

./start.sh -l,  --dlc - start J.U.L.I.A.: Among the Stars Untold DLC HD

./start.sh -d, --dlc-sd - start J.U.L.I.A.: Among the Stars Untold DLC SD

Definitely _NOT_!
Very nice old school puzzle 1st p adventure with very nice puzzles and great atmosphere and some severe
topics excellently explored AND rewarding endings.

Only thing is, It might not be for everyone, since the general tone of it is rather bleak from the beginning.

I'll take your word for it. "Walking sim" is just where my mind immediately goes when I see a "narrative driven" 1st person adventure game. I don't like 1st person adventure games anyway, so It's no skin off my back :)
