How does the game handle saving and death?

How does exactly the ripple effect on the sentences of text in the text balloons help the user experience? Is it for fanciness only or for the purpose of a clue?

I wonder if it's complete or not? "Roadmap"? I don't have time to play a game that's a moving target that'll be a very different product a year from now (like Hollow Knight and Spiritfarer were... I'm glad I waited until those were done).

This kind of reminds me of Hob but in a side scroller form.

Interesting animation but the pricing is a little too much.
