The mass production effect

Industry Giant 2, an isometric industry manager simulator, is now available DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 15% launch discount.

A lot of videogames give players the chance to live out their fantasies. For most of us, owning a multibillion-dollar business will never escape that realm so this our best opportunity at becoming a true Industry Giant 2.

Despite appearances, a successful business is a far more complicated affair than simply crunching numbers in an effective manner. You need vision, adaptive thinking, the will to act. There are events out of your control, like economic crises and political events, that can change your business plan overnight. For that to happen, though you first need to come up with one. Do you want to focus on a single product or do you want to expand across different industries? Who will provide you with raw materials, which market should you push them to, and how will your goods physically reach that place? Start from the beginning of the previous century and live through historical events like the prohibition, as you make the harsh decisions that will keep your business going and growing into a self-sustained industry giant.

Choose from a wide variety of products and build your own Industry Giant 2, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 15% launch discount will last until April 14, 1:59 PM UTC.

tburger: Strategy - Simulation - Managerial..and no manual?
The English manual I own has 56 pages (2 pages per PDF page), the German one 53 pages. If GOG wants them, they know how to contact me.

IAmSinistar: Hmm, don't know that the Simdustrial Complex is quite as compelling an idea as civil planning. Maybe if it moved through time as well, showing the transition from agrarian to industrial to technological it might be more interesting.

Oh, and "Over 150 real products from the 20th century"? No thanks, product placement, if that's what it means.
It is more like a history lesson than marketing. For each product you are given lots of background information, I learned a lot about culture and history.
Umm, post I was quoting disappeared? Hmm.

Ta, that does sound better than the first impression, which is just a city simulator with 75% of the content ripped out. :)
Ah it's a game.
To whoever did the trailer and promo shots.
Your transportation routes and factory placement are supremely inefficient, and thus you are driving me fucking nuts.

Hope someone from GOG Staff will notice this..
This seems like the kind of game I should like but I'm trying to spend less and I've already succumbed to several games here this month. Wishlisted for now.

They always do... >.>
Definitely going to grab this one. I'll justify it as an early birthday present.

It has already been noticed, submission and checks on GOG's still to be done.
Hmm, have this on DVD & Steam, nice to see it on GOG.

edit: Is it Gold version or not? I think I have Gold on DVD.

edit1: Yes, it's Gold. :)

Nice :)
Really tempted, but I just bought a whole bunch of DLCs for my RaceRoom and Sebastien Loeb games.

Besides, I have my hands full right now with Lethis and Block'hood when it comes to city-builders.

I'll get to Industry Giant 2 eventually. Great addition though, I sure enjoyed the first game.

Please :)

Also, is the first not here because of legal issues or because it has bad reviews on IGN and Metacritic and presumably more?
