The one console to rule them all…

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1, the satirical JRPG series finally takes on Windows computers everywhere, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 50% launch discount.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 takes place in the land of Gamindustry, it's a story of four goddesses also known as Console Patron Units, or CPUs, locked in a thousand year struggle, called the Console War, in which they fight each other for shares. Yup.
If that wasn't blunt enough - the Hyperdimension Neptunia series is a spoofy JRPG take on the gaming industry. The world, the characters, everything here is a little nod, a gamer-friendly meme, or just unabashed satire. But don't be mistaken, the game is far from a one-trick pony - there is plenty here for fans of the genre. Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 brings a novel fighting system which combines free movement with classic turn-based RPG combat, as well as many other huge improvements in mechanics and presentation over the game originally released on the PSP.

You can also pick up the Additional Content1 DLC pack featuring a much higher level cap, new quests, battles and Plans.

Is the Console War worth fighting? Find out with Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1, DRM-free now on GOG.com! The launch discount will end on November 10, 1:59 PM GMT.

bansama: Could someone who bought this and the DLC on GOG please confirm what DLC they actually received? Does the in-game DLC menu list only the 9 DLC items bellow?

01: Histy's Trial Item Package
02: Histy's Beginner's Item Package
03: fairy fencer f Collaboration Package
04: [Plutia] Battle Entry License
05: [Peashy] Battle Entry License
06: [Histoire] Battle Entry License
07: Additional Content Package 1
08: Additional Content Package 2
09: Additional Content Package 3

When you check the DLC directory (Neptunia Rebirth1\DLC), do you have folders NRB1DLC000000001 and NRB1DLC000000004 (these folders are not included on Steam).

I'd buy these to check myself, but can't really afford them with the exchange rate right now. So I'm only looking to buy if there really is DLC not included on Steam.

Thanks
Yes even I asked that on Steam forums but no answer . I am very surprised those folders added new DLCs to the GOG version but Steam doesn't have them .
If I deactivate all 9 DLCs in the menu, all of them are greyed out on restart. The menu says "purchase required". Still, the following three are activated on any game:

Allowance
DENGEKI Playstation(R) Collaboration Costume Set
DENGEKI Playstation(R) Collaboration Costume Set, Part 2

I've added Screens for those.

Simply changing the Neptune.ini for the other DLCs ("0" -> "1") re-enables the other 9 DLCs.

Edit: And if I edit my Neptune.ini and change the lines as the following:

[DLC]
DLC001=0
DLC002=0
DLC003=0
DLC004=0
DLC005=0
DLC006=0
DLC007=0
DLC008=0
DLC009=0
DLC010=0
DLC011=0
DLC012=0

... then no DLC is activated on any game. And as before, changing the values to "1" ativates the content.

DLC #1 is Allowance
DLC #2 is Histy's Trial Item Package
DLC #3 is Histy's Beginner's Item Package
DLC #4 is DENGEKI Playstation(R) Collaboration Costume Set
DLC #5 is DENGEKI Playstation(R) Collaboration Costume Set, Part 2
DLC #6 is fairy fencer f Collaboration Package
DLC #7 is [Plutia] Battle Entry License
DLC #8 is [Peashy] Battle Entry License
DLC #9 is [Histoire] Battle Entry License
DLC #10 is Additional Content Package 1
DLC #11 is Additional Content Package 2
DLC #12 is Additional Content Package 3

Huh, those don't seem to be in the steam release.

Unkalibriert: Snip
Thanks for clarifying. Now I need to find the money to buy a GOG copy as the Allowance and Dengeki Costume packs are not on Steam.
To say one thing: The DLC #5 seems to be incomplete, as those parka items do have different stats, but are looking exactly as the normal parka one-piece Nep starts with. Seems like the textures are missing or something like that.

The other DENGEKI package has individual textures, though.

Edit: I've added a text about it to the store page, hope it helps.

Degenki stuff is japanese exclusive content (probably not avaible or not totaly through this version), don't bother with those. (i checked on Steam)

allowance DLC = no idea...

but those listed on the gog's gamecard are the same than those on Steam.

If you really have an issue -> the support is your friend (at least, if they can reproduce the issue for the listed DLC)

The weird thing, though, is that the Degenki stuff work for the other characters (their outfit's color scheme visually changes), but not the main character's. Weird

For the allowance, it's a 100 000 $ credit directly available at the beginning of the game. I imagine it was to limit the grind at the beginning, although I try not to use them since I love "zero to hero" beginnings in RPGs ^^

I find this game very fun. I own it on PS Vita, but I decided to get it off here as well because I wanna play it on my PC too. I hope more games like these arrive on GOG.

LordEbu: Ooooh, so port-a-licious!

jamyskis: You think that's bad? Fairy Fencer F (which I assume will be making its way here after Re;Birth2) is a port of a PS3 game that itself was a port of a PS Vita game that was never released.
Not really. As long as it contains original/uncut/not-censored content, I have no problems with it being a port. Look at Ys series. There are so many different versions on various platforms, but most of them respect the original. I'm fine with it.
