I remember reading about it for the first time a looong time ago. I had no idea it had since been released on Steam. Good thing it's here now too. I hope I'll get to it before it gets delisted :D

ConsulCaesar: I really like the look of the medieval scenes. They could pass for a classic mid-90s point-and-click.

On the other hand, the futuristic scenes don't look so detailed. They remind me of the indie/one-man games from the early 2010s. Perhaps we just need more screenshots/videos to judge the graphics better.
Yeah, I like the looks of the medieval part of the game much more too. I could do without the future part entirely :P
Looks a little like Quest for Glory.

yup, i had the same deja vu feeling.
It looks like a fun video game. The only thing that does not convince me is that from what I read the duration of the game is very short.

The reviews I am reading say around four or five hours. With the sale, that's about a dollar an hour. Sounds okay to me.

ETA: The developer on Steam said this: "Bit of a follow up, the average playtime for Guard Duty during our beta tests has been 7 hours, some players taking up to 12 hours to finish the game!"

I already bought it. It ´s entertaining. It reminds me a lot of the Simon games for its humorous style and medieval theme.
The only thing that bothered me is that the store page says it has Achivements and when I installed the game on GOG Galaxy they didn't appear. I hope it is a temporary error.

I suspect it's the usual visual bug that doesn't display the list of achievements, but once obtained you should see them appear normally. You can actually see some achievements at the end of the game page. In any case if you write to GOG support they are able to fix the bug for everyone.
