Truly Epic.

Final Liberation: Warhammer 40,000 Epic, a strategy game in which "epic" is no lie, returns to Windows in a DRM-free digital distribution premiere, exclusively on GOG.com!

Tabletop gaming isn't quick or easy, especially not when you're looking at the kind of scale that Warhammer 40,000 Epic presents. Instead of small and brutally effective squads, you're looking at massive scenarios that keep growing in scale as you play - from squads to legions, from heavy tanks to titanic mechs, from an unassuming skirmish to all out slaughter. If that sounds awesome, it's because it is - and Final Liberation is how you bring the awesomeness of a tabletop setting into the hands of computer gamer folk. That's us!
Clash against your friends or AI in scenarios that range from quick skirmishes to battles that go on for hours in a tangle of crossfire, flank maneuvers and morale boosts. Final Liberation: Warhammer 40,000 Epic is a historic turn-based strategy title that's true to the its tabletop origins in every positive way.

Crush your enemies in an authentic tabletop experience with Final Liberation: Warhammer 40,000 Epic - available now, DRM-free on GOG.com.

In the Press:
Final Liberation looks and feels like a traditional turn-based wargame, but meticulous gameplay balance and dozens of imaginative units set it apart. --Gamespot
Title is wrong. It's just "Epic 40,000: Final Liberation". "Warhammer 40,000 Epic" is just a weird thing to call it. Especially since it's based on Epic 40k and not Warhammer 40k

Warhammer Epic 40.000 is what the old logo said though. So I guess they're all wrong ;)
Nice to see that GOG is the publisher! Too bad that means that we probably won't see the newer Warhammers here.

luk6man: Any one having issues with this one? I'm getting "Memory could not be written" error.
I'm having issues as well on windows 8. Tried changing the compatibility settings but still cant get this too run!! Will stick with the newer version of this game thats on steam
Can anyone confirm that the movie videos work on this release? I tried playing this some time ago and I do remember it was all but impossible to get the movies to work.
No XP support?
I only know the more recent 40K games (the Relic ones). How's this one?

I played it a lot in the late 90's early 2000s. It's actually quite fun, and the cutscenes are awesome.
Was one of my favourite games growing up and along with Space Crusade my first touch of the 40k universe.

The game mechanics definitely show their age, but it's still a fun experience.
No.Fucking.Way.

You guys actually did it! :D

We could not make it run on XP, sorry.

And we all thank you immensely for it. Certainly more than my short comment would imply.

Really? I find it strange that a game from 1997 runs on Windows 7, 8 and Vista but not on Windows XP.

Not at all? Or just on some configs? Have you used some techniques that prevent the game from running on XP (say some Vista+ libraries) ?
Just asking because if there is a chance that it will run on my XP - I'm willing to gamble and buy it anyway.

Great news, glad to see those games here! Voted for Chaos Gate and Final Liberation so I guess I'm honor bound to at least insta-wishlist those two games for now. I'm trying to go for an entire month of no purchasing plus I can't afford to buy anything right now but I'll definitely keep an eye out for sales, especially for Final Liberation. No urge to get them right away if I could wait for so long before.
