A Point & Click Hugventure.

Remember how adventure games used to be super-weird back in the day? Welll... Here's <span class="bold">Dropsy</span>, available on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux -- DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% discount.

Dropsy used to be a beloved circus clown, bringing joy to his little town alongside his Ma' and Pop. His unfortunate appearance and inability to communicate obscured by the happiness, spirit of joy, and entertainment he brought upon the world - but when a fire causes Dropsy to lose his mother, his livelihood, and the life he's always known - he's left getting-by in a decrepit circus-tent, caring for his sickly father. Still, unfazed, Dropsy does what he can to share his positive outlook on life with everyone. Literally everyone..
Dropsy's objective is to... hug. Hug 'em all. But when you're a hulking, scary-looking clown, people can take a while to warm up to the idea - they also run super fast. But there's a chance: the folk you encounter around town will all have a very particular need, communicated through visual thought bubbles that breach all language barriers. You'll traverse the city looking for the right solution, never obscure or too confounding, and win the hearts and love of the people. Dropsy's classic art style, playful music and love-filled message provide a stark contrast to his face. His awful, awful face.

The <span class="bold">Dropsy: Warm Damp Hug</span> is coming for you as well! A package full of hugs, and music - including the OST and Eternal Hug EP by Jay Tholen, in both FLAC and MP3 - and Dropsy's Book of Secrets. All at the same 10% discount.

Clown around in <span class="bold">Dropsy</span>, DRM-free on GOG.com. The launch discount will last for one week, until Thursday, September 17.

Stream watch:

Want to see the creepy clown live? MegapiemanPHD will be playing it live on our channel. Tune in to Twitch.tv/GOGcom tomorrow (Friday, September 11th) starting at 4pm GMT (or 6pm CESt, 12pm EDT, and 9am PDT in some other time zones)!

vulchor: I'm surprised no one has put up a walkthrough yet. I haven't completed the game (played through a lot of the beta) because I'm still waiting for GOG to send Jay Tholen some keys for his backers... hint hint.

JudasIscariot: If he's asked for them, I wouldn't know :) Dropsy is not one of my games :)
Well Judas? Can you or someone else get some Warm Hug keys to Jay Tholen so that all of us backers can get our rewards here? I'm not going to trust someone else's Google Drive account for the extras, no, I have a lot more faith in the longevity of GOG.com to keep those safe for my future downloading. :)
Just got an email from Jay with a valid GOG code! \o/

Only the base game, mind you. Good luck to those who are still waiting for their game+DLC codes! *HUGS*

Barry_Woodward: The DLC is 10% off now, only after I purchased it. Ideally launch discounts should be in place at launch. :\
avatar
stg83: I'm sure support will provide you the difference in store credit as they probably forgot to put up the discount earlier when they added the DLC.
The response I received from support:

"Hello
Actually 10% discount will gave you the price of 9.99$ Since the game initial price is 11.99 USD"

:\

Well that is obviously wrong since the price of both the game and DLC is 9.99 USD respectively. Unfortunately, lately it seems that the quality of GOG support significantly depends on the whims of the person handling the request. Keep trying though and hopefully the support personnel will realize their mistake or create another ticket if there is no further response.

Fairfox: I contacted GOG the other night regarding the missing DLC code(s), and they replied today.

"Hello, we investigated it and looks like there was a mistake. The keys for Kickstarter backers will be upgraded today or tomorrow, and the people who already redeemed them should have the DLC added to their account as well, before Friday at most.

I apologise for the inconvenience."

So good news, right?
For sure!
Dev's a "nicest of the nice" guy, that's for sure. Still, so much work in here, lotsa chores... didn't spare the right time to dive into Dropsy, even though I've "sang" this one in the shower the other day :P

For some reason that reminded me of Teletubbies...
