Fantastic Beasts And How to Slay Them.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, the monster-hunting epic that keeps challenging you with dynamic encounters, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 60% launch discount.

Tackling monsters shouldn't be just a roadblock in your epic adventure - it should be the very essence of it. In this massive open-world RPG every fight is its own reward thanks to the dynamic mechanics and deep customization. Train and upgrade your A.I. controlled pawns to fight alongside you or share them online with other adventurers and get rewarded for their exploits.

The 60% discount will last until June 20, 1PM UTC.

NOTE: The game comes with full GOG Galaxy support including Cloud saves, leaderboards, and achievements. Additionally, both the Pawn system and Ur Dragon work exactly as in the Steam version. Keep in mind, however, that the GOG Galaxy servers are separate from the Steam ones, meaning that this is a fresh start.

Watch the trailer.

wolfsite: Think you can get Sega on board now so we can get Alpha Protocol here?

..... oh ya and Yakuza, Shenmue..... all those classic Sega arcade games you know.
I purchased Alpha Protocol DRM free from somewhere a while ago. I think it was GamersGate, but it's no longer there. I don't have my password with me to verify it. I would like to see it here also.
Any comment on the pro and cons of this game? (never heard of it.... thats a 20gb download as well...)

From everything I've seen, it's a great open world action RPG. If you like this type of game, it will probably appeal to you.

GR00T: Okay, so you need to constantly swap out the hires? Oh ye gods, what a fucked up system.

I guess this leads to another question: is the game even playable without hiring pawns? i.e. can you play (and enjoy) this game with only the one pawn you create yourself and the player character?
You don't need to constantly swap them out. Pawns are part of the system and it's a bunch mechanic. Every few levels or so, you'll probably do your shopping for different pawns to compose your party. If you need a tank to bear the brunt, you'll go shopping for one. If you need a healer, you'll find a mage which has the healing skills. If you need damage done, you'll get someone who can do damage. At times, you'll swap out depending on what the enemy is strong or weak against. Every pawn has their own items and skillsets.

They're just extra party members that are controlled by the AI, following the behaviour set by their player owner or random generated by the computer. You can very well play without any pawns or just your main pawn in the game, however that will boost the difficulty for quite a number of encounters.

I got it from Gamersgate a long while back. DRM-free. So that's likely where you picked it up as well.

If that would be possible it would be great if puzzle quest and puzzles quest 2 would get here aswell, then i can finally remove the securom versions.
And its been a month since i last bought a game:

Conquests of the Longbow: The Legend of Robin Hood : purchased may 4th
thats 1 month ago....
lets hope more old games will come, so far its mainly new releases and the old games are either 3d or fpp ....( so thats no purchase)

I fear the good old games ( 2d) are goners .... 2014 + 2015 were evry great years and i bought many good old games, 2016 was very thin and few games i was able to buy, 2017 will be even less.

Normally i had at least 2 tot 3 or 4 games per 20 games i liked/was able to play

my buys the last 6 months : 5 games and 1 DLC

May 4, 2017
Conquests of the Longbow: The Legend of Robin Hood

Apr 18, 2017
Full Throttle Pre-Order
Mar 30, 2017

Thimbleweed Park
Mar 21, 2017

Feb 16, 2017
The Dagger of Amon Ra

Feb 2, 2017
Freddy Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist

not a full game only dlc
Jan 14, 2017
Guild of Dungeoneering: Ice Cream Headaches

Thats to little , i am used to buy at least 2 to 4 games every month ( that would make 12 - 24 games in 6 months instead of 5 games and 1 DLC)

Lets hope thursdays new game (june 8th) will be a old one i can play and like.

Instabought. Because...

1.) I want to support GOG
2.) I want to encourage Capcom to release more games here
3.) The game looks freaking AWESOME!

I'm tellling you guys/gals, at this point GOG can get anything with the exception of the newest Denuvo games, and maybe Valve's if GabeN won't let them go.
Well, if this release and the bethesda stuff last week is some sort of apologies from GOG for the galaxy incident and the gremlins inc. invasion ? then i would say i may let the door ajar for now and keep listening a bit longer... for now

BTW great game, didnt expect to see this one coming here at all or until years.... nice addition to the catalog, it's a great game, i spend hours on it on the X360

at this release price ? i can only recommend it

For people who are wondering how this will play offline without Galaxy, I'm guessing the same as the Steam, PS3 and XB360 versions. Here's an old steam thread about how it works: https://steamcommunity.com/app/367500/discussions/0/487877107142204062/ , WBacon from Capcom verifies an earlier post from another user about offline play

My review's posted on the page :) Copy and pasted from my steam review. Deleted some stuff coz of the 2000 word limit.

I LOVE the game, everything listed in my review. Cons would be the interface which is not too PC friendly and involves a lot of scrolling and keypresses to get to something. Otherwise everything is great for me.

Its all pros, no cons, Imagine Skyrim with really good combat, good story, good AI for your allies and, well take whats dragging down Skyrim and thats Dragons Dogma. Maybe there would be 1 con and thats don't commit crimes in this game as crime won't pay and you'll have to do time. Capcom made this a pretty big thing in Japan, they made this franchise into a MMO over there.

Ah, so there are a bunch of computer generated pawns of varying levels and skill sets? If so, not so bad, but it seems a weird design decision that you can't level your 'hires' as well. Seems it's a party-based game (or at least designed to be, what with pawns and all), so I prefer to steer all my party members in directions I want them to develop as opposed to leaving that to an AI (which tends to make poor choices, in my experience).

Not a big deal though; I bought the game anyway. :P
Mmm, at this rate of releases i'm going to need to save money off my holidays to be able to buy all this great games you are bringing here.

And the next ones, or soon (tm) are Mechwarrior and Mechcommander series!!! wow!!! (ahem, right? yes, please? a miracle for the summer? :D) ->this is total off topic, forgive me my daydreaming :P
