Fantastic Beasts And How to Slay Them.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, the monster-hunting epic that keeps challenging you with dynamic encounters, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 60% launch discount.

Tackling monsters shouldn't be just a roadblock in your epic adventure - it should be the very essence of it. In this massive open-world RPG every fight is its own reward thanks to the dynamic mechanics and deep customization. Train and upgrade your A.I. controlled pawns to fight alongside you or share them online with other adventurers and get rewarded for their exploits.

The 60% discount will last until June 20, 1PM UTC.

NOTE: The game comes with full GOG Galaxy support including Cloud saves, leaderboards, and achievements. Additionally, both the Pawn system and Ur Dragon work exactly as in the Steam version. Keep in mind, however, that the GOG Galaxy servers are separate from the Steam ones, meaning that this is a fresh start.

Watch the trailer.

DaCostaBR: The store page links only to the general forum, yet the game's own forum is already up.

Don't know if this is an oversight or you just haven't gotten to it yet.
Store pages don't have links to the game/series forums (unless you're using one of the userscripts, but that's nothing to do with GOG). Or did you mean the game's card in your library?
Dead Rising must be next week then.

no fast-travel... dad true?

Miltrivd: That's a 2012 video of the console version. PC has fast travel via reusable items.
Thanks a lot!
Cool, heard of this.

cemacar: GoG said servers are seperate from Steam ones.

Hickory: Galaxy and Steam servers have NOTHING to do with multiplayer pawns and leaderboards. I repeat, those are controlled entirely by Capcom. Read that GOG reply again:
"The pawn system and Ur Dragon both work exactly as in the Steam version", meaning they are controlled by Capcom.
If they have nothing to do with capcom then why these two are different pools of pawns?
Cool. I've had my eye on this game fore a while now and if possible, I'd like to get my games here.
I played the CRAP out of this on my PS3. Super fun game. The combat is fantastic. Pawn system is also fun :)

.....i just had a thought. So is this only going to be through gog? So all the pawns I get to play with will only be fellow gog'gers? YAY!!!!!!!!

Wow. Wasn't expecting another major modern 3D release so soon after the Bethesda games last week... but happy to see it! Bought. :)

Just like normal. ;P
Good grief. I knew Capcom had released an old PC port of Street Fighter about 3 or 4 years ago, and I had given up hope that they'd release something else here.

I wasn't expecting them to pull out one of their big guns out of nowhere, especially so soon after we finally get New Vegas. (Then again, Dragon's Dogma is something Capcom considered to be a commercial failure and an IP they have little faith in, even if the game itself is actually fantastic.)

Still, here's hoping we'll at least get the rare PC ports of Resident Evil 1 - 3...

When I saw someone talk about "chasing dragon to get back your heart" earlier, I was thinking "what a weird way to spell love interest". The intro definitely surprised me in this regard :)

This game seems pretty unconventional as far as story goes. The rest will have to wait until tomorrow, it's way too late today. Can't wait.

Why do people think Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen is a commercial failure? Everywhere I've looked I've seen it praised as Capcom's fastest selling title.

Or is this a Square-Enix "We only sold 3 million copies of Tomb Raider - what a huge failure!" type reasoning?

XyleDaylight: Amazing! But the fact that I'd have to start a new save and have refreshed servers kinda ruins any reason for me to double-dip on this one. My steam copy will do for now I guess. Release here first next time, CAPCOM! You'll earn some respect back after the disgrace that DmC was.
avatar
VaaNFM: you do know DmC has sold almost 1M copies on PC/steam? which is amazing for a port
I mean the game itself is a disgrace.

Pretty much. I think that over it's lifetime, DD has sold at least 1 million (combining sales of the original game, and both PC and console versions of Dark Arisen) but Capcom was expecting Resident Evil or Street Fighter numbers from this.
