idbeholdME: That's Doom 3: BFG Edition. Which changed a ton of things and usually for the worse from the original.
It still is listed separately on Steam for example.
Just the most notable offenders:
1) Most levels have been brightened up, completely killing the atmoshpere.
2) Flashlight can now be active along with a weapon, killing the dynamic of trading visibility for a ready weapon.
3) A lot of ammo has been added throughout the levels, killing any potential resource scarcity.
They basically transformed an atmospheric horror shooter into a
generic action shooter.
The list is even worse: https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Doom_3:_BFG_Edition#Differences_with_Doom_3
All in all I can not fathom why Bethesda decided to practically ruin the game(s) like that... how about SEGA remastered
Alien: Isolation and turned on a huge amount of light sources and added plentiful ammo, health and stuff, so you basically could play with the alien like it was
SUPERTED?
"Yeah dude, it's the same game". Heck no! :D
Anyway, really nice to see Doom64 here.
