Don't Starve - Shipwrecked, the expansion pack to the wacky survival simulation, is now available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount.

Wilson must not really like eating because he always manages to find himself in uncomfortable situations where malnourishment is just a couple of misclicks away. To be fair, though, it was inevitable that a chap with his name would eventually get Shipwrecked, so he better just make the most out of it.

The archipelago might look like a tropical paradise at first glance, but there's no shortage of dangerous natural elements and things that want to kill you so that they Don't Starve. As you navigate the open ocean and explore this unfamiliar world, looking for new resources and new things to eat, seasons keep changing so you must quickly adapt to the biomes if you want to survive. Escaping the local predators and avoiding starvation are going to prove challenging endeavors but you always wanted to try on that sweet captain's hat, didn't you?

Keep yourself nourished, run away from man-eating creatures, and make the most out of being Shipwrecked, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Callipleura: I guess Don't Starve Together is never going to make it to GOG. I have read elsewhere that Don't Starve and Don't Starve Together was going to be combined into one game... seems like it should be.
avatar
HunchBluntley: Don't Starve Together is apparently still in Early Access, and the devs probably don't want to have to create and support a GOG In Dev version so late(?) in the development cycle. Also, the game uses Steam to power its multiplayer, so they'd have to "translate" it to using Galaxy, and therefore that expansion (multiplayer being the whole point, and all) would effectively require Galaxy, which will probably piss off a lot of DRM-free zealots around these parts if a GOG version ever DOES get released. :)
There is LAN support - so I don't know how requiring Galaxy for non-Lan online play would piss people off.

Starmaker: I bought the whole bundle, even though I already have the game and the first expansion. I can't stand bundles labeled unbought when I have all the constituent parts. You win again, GOG.
I am actually wonder about this as well. Is this pack going to be available ongoing after this promo though?. Or will be have another The Pit issue......

Id say this wont be an isolated issue for just that game unfortunately.....

IronArcturus: So how is the gameplay different from Reign of Giants?
Gameplay? Not much difference. If you knew how to play previous iteration, you can catch up with this one without any problem.

But I can't say with 100% confidence as I don't own a copy here, I only have Steam copy.

I don't know either, but that doesn't stop people from being pissed off nonetheless -- I think there were some complaints about this exact "issue" in the Grim Dawn release thread, for example.

Good to know that DST has a LAN option, though.
nevermind

Didn't play Don't Starve for a long time .

I have some questions :

- Is there a creative / peaceful mode for the game ?
- Are there any modpacks ?

No wonder GOG never fixes this mess when people even donate them money for not fixing it. :P

PS: A link to the promo page would have been nice so that you can reach it without going through the front page again.

GOG.com: Don't Starve Alone
That elicited a chortle from me... and then I realized it was at my own expense.

Womp-womp

1. Sort of. You can set the options to turn off most of the dangers, make the world resource rich and enemy-scarce. But I don't think you can turn off the starvation mechanic completely.

2. There's a decent amount of mods, but google would probably let you better judge whether there are the packs you like.
By the way, does Shipwrecked come with a serial? The base game and the first DLC did.

Oh, I don't have the DLC yet. :)
I'm just gathering info for my thread.

So I get it is used for the same purpose as the base game/Reign of Giants (optional autoupdate)?
