A wish come true!

Aladdin, a magical tale about a street urchin, a magic lamp, and a whole lot of apples, is available now for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount. Grab this together with the other two Disney classics for a 33% discount.

Who doesn't love Aladdin? What with his awesome acrobatic skills, his apple-throwing shenanigans, and his devotion to princess Jasmine. But he wouldn't be half as cool without his three irresistible sidekicks! Abu, the adorable, fez-wearing monkey with the unlimited arsenal of mannerisms and his own bonus levels. The equally expressive magic carpet that can fly Aladdin anywhere he pleases and is the star of the game's later levels. And of course the blue, wish-granting Genie of inexhaustible comedic potential and flexibility. The only thing that could make this story better is an evil wizard with delusions of grandeur and an obnoxious parrot at his side. What do you mean they are also here and you get to fight them, like in the movie? Surely you are making it all up - these sorts of things could only happen during hot arabian nights...

Throw apples at anyone who stands between you and a kiss from your princess, as Aladdin, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 10/33% discounts will last until August 8, 12:59 PM UTC.

*** INFO NEEDED ***

It's a bit hard to tell from the screenshots and my memories from 20 years ago but is this DOS version closer to the Genesis/Megadrive version or the Super NES/Famicom one? Old console gamers remember that the two versions were quite different (the levels most notably).

In those screensshots, Aladdin has a weapon - a scimitar - and apples too. IIRC (not sure, I only had MD version), in the SNES version doesn't have this, he has to knock down ennemies without weapons.
The screensshots really look like those on MD (but the MD hadn't the UI in the top of the screen).

I would say Megadrive. The SNES one was developed by Capcom...
It's definitely the same vesion as the Mega Drive/Genesis one.
Yup, thanks guys, I felt the screenshots were close but wasn't sure.
The Amiga and PC versions (DOS) were based on the Mega Drive/Genesis version, featuring enhanced music and sound effects.
So, actually a lot better than the SNES version.

definitely megadrive. as others have said the snes version didn't have a scimitar (sword?). it was the superior version between the two imo. I actually replay the genesis/megadrive version every few years. I've beaten it probably ten times.

man, this is killer. all three platformers are a blast to play but I already have them. I will get a digital version of all three here sometime down the road.

lion king is fun but iirc it was the hardest. but even Aladdin has the lava level which I would be shocked if anyone beat it without memorizing the level (or maybe I'm not as fancy as I thought at gaming).

my ranking from best to worst for those interested (although none are bad!!!)

Aladdin
jungle book
lion king

It is close(r) to the Megadrive version, and has probably the best music of all versions. :) Has even singing in the intro music.

PC version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RceDyRLNbI

Megadrive version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlxuPsQFX28

SNES version (seems like a totally different game, published by a different company): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hI2V6ra-lUQ

Instabought. Loved Aladdin back then. Completed multiple times. Timeless graphics and music. Played it pretty much everytime I felt I needed some action.
