Within its non-linear structure, you’ll get to explore the world where you find the titular Crystals, and fulfill the prophecy to bring balance to the land of Sequoia. P-E-S: Platforming as a main feature in an RPG? I can dig it.

dtgreene: Have you played Super Mario RPG?
I haven't but made me think of A Valley Without Wind (wishlist). I'm not sure why that one isn't here since we have some Arcen games. Not really the same thing since AVWW is a 2D side scroller (more of an action style platformer than a true platformer) but it is a nice game, one of my favorites (there is also AVWW2, which isn't an RPG but is a nice way to do a sequel with similar individual levels but arranged in almost a board game style).
Thank you, GOG, for providing a demo for Crystal Project! Always appreciated. :) Helps me see if the game and I are compatible. Also helps me see if the game and my rig are compatible. :P Can't wait to test the gameplay! Everything about the trailer has seduced me and I think it's a game I'll really enjoy playing.

I was hesitant about sharing what follows, but it was just too funny to keep to myself, so here it is, at the risk of making me look stupid:

When watching game trailer, I was very attentive to details because I am always fascinated by games created by single individuals. At the 1:10 mark, I noticed "Created by Andrew Willman 2017-2022" and immediately began to tear up, thinking to myself, OMG, the poor game creator has passed away last year and won't see his game launching on GOG... xD It took me a moment to realize that this would make him a 5 year old child developer. ROFL! Hope this makes someone laugh. And, no, I am neither drunk, nor exhausted. Just typically me. :P
Maybe I'm screaming into the void here but I wish GOG would try better to get day 1 releases. I would have liked to buy this game on GOG but I got it on Steam last year.

1 - How about you stop using Steam? It's a problem of your own creation.
2 - We were only a couple weeks delayed. Its release date was March 31st. (So you 're doubly self-incriminating that not only do you rent titles on Steam, you are renting early access titles as if they were final releases.)

I do agree that GOG can still be even better about "coming soons" when they get them. And they HAVE gotten much better about it. (But it's since created woes of complainers "you said it's coming, when?" now. But I feel that's easier to ignore.)
Exploring this game world reminds me a little of the original Legend of Zelda.
The husband and I have both been playing this all week. It's REALLY good.
