If you enjoy classic games as much as we do, we have something right up your alley – two classic titles, straight from Piko Interactive, are joining the GOG catalog!

Prophecy I - The Viking Child
This game is a cartoony side-scroller where you take the role of, as the title states, a viking child, in his quest to free his friends and family, held by the evil god Loki inside the Great Halls of Valhalla. Fight your way through 16 levels with diverse scenarios, including medieval castles and mountains. Spread throughout the levels are shops in which you can buy potions and other magical items to help you along the way. Before you finally face the Dark Lord Loki, you must also defeat the 8 Apprentices of Darkness.

Brave Battle Saga - The Legend of The Magic Warrior
This one is a SEGA Genesis game that came out only in Taiwanese markets. It has been fully translated to English, and features great battle system, party system, spells, summons, and a turn based fighting engine. Enjoy over 40 hours of gameplay in the world of a civilization once brought together by magic and technology!

Now on GOG!

dtgreene: What are the growth systems of Brave Battle Saga like? That is, how do you grow stronger? (Is it via XP, or is there a different mechanic.) How do you learn special abilities?

Also, how is resource management? How easy is it to restore MP in the middle of a dungeon?
From watching a review and looking at screenshots:
- You get stronger by leveling up
- Spells are bought in the store, all characters can learn all spells, but there is a maximum amount of spells each character can learn, so you need to make a selection
- Summons you get by defeating hidden bosses
Huh. We used to own Viking Child back in our Amiga days. Going by those screenshot that may actual be that version as the colors look a lot more vibrant than the DOS one.
