A beautifully hand-painted RPG set in a world filled with often questionable morals. Celestian Tales: Realms Beyond is now available DRM-free on GOG.COM. Follow the journey of six knights sworn to serve and protect the heir of a noble house. Accompany them as they rise and fall in their struggle to survive a world where nothing is certain.

Until May the 14th, 3 PM UTC, Celestian Tales: Realms Beyond is available on GOG.COM with a special 10% discount. During that time we’ve also prepared a set of discounts on other Celestian Tales titles reaching up to 85%.

ShadowWulfe: Any chance the developer could add the achievements for this version?

I like the concept of the game, but the lack of GOG features makes me not very confident in the developer.
Only one "GOG Feature", being sold on the GOG store.

Think you mean "Galaxy Features", and I'm fine with games ignoring any store client based features.
I'd much rather they spent time on the actual game, than anything that requires a store client to function

Especially for an optional store client.

VanishedOne: The first screenshot with text in it has a proofreading error. More natural-sounding English than the developer's website though, so hopefully it's an unfortunate one-off.

joveian: It seems fine to me, maybe sounds worse in British? If you mean the "yet still", that sounds natural to me with emphasis. I don't recall translation quality being an issue at all in the first one.

That said, I don't think I'll get this one. The last one left me hating all the characters. Not what I want in a game.

Cavalary: "bends it knees"
Ah, thanks, I think I looked at that a half a dozen times and didn't notice :/.
I liked the first game enough that I'm looking forward to playing this game in the future. (Not now, tho. Only someone rich or insane would make dollar purchases when their country's currency is in a bad situation and I'm neither.) But I admit I was far more caught due to the story than the depth of its gameplay.

The first game is short indeed, but it has decent length if you realize that you're supposed to play it 6 times. I did it, and considering that I'm not too fond of turn based games that is something.

dtgreene: Does this include characters who are dead at the end of a fight?
If it's anything like the first game, yes. I hope it is exactly the same in that regard. They made it impossible to have a character lagging behind in EXP, so if you wanted to bring forward a party member that you had not used in a while you had no reason not to.

The game card makes me believe they were satisfied with their system and are not changing it.

Schnuff: Funny fact, the first review about this game on Steam tells about a game breaking bug after 10 minutes playtime.
Also, this bug should be fixed (at last on Steam)....but I must ask about gametesting before release ;-)
The bug was fixed already, few hours after the release.
They just sent out the GOG backer keys. Nice!

rampancy: So is this the second or third (if you count the prequel DLC Howl of the Ravager) installment of the Celestian Tales trilogy? I also thought I read somewhere that the development studio wouldn't be producing any more games in this series.
Hi rampancy,

Celestian Tales can definitely continue in both game and story. But as we learned in making Realms Beyond bigger than what we did the first time in Old North, we need to assess the community's interest and properly plan the feasibility of undertaking the challenge of developing a new part.

In summary, we did put out three parts already, but if there's good interest for the series we may explore the possibility of doing another.

Hi ShadowWulfe,

Thanks for your interest in the game. Currently we are working on integrating achievement through Galaxy SDK, and will try to patch it as soon as possible.

Thanks for the clarification. Is there any word about a Mac/Linux version, like with Old North/Howl of the Ravager?

Also, I'm guessing you're on the dev team from your other responses; make sure you let the staff know so they can give you a Developer tag!

Thank you very much for the decision to add the achievements also on GOG! I wanted to ask if you can restore the achievements also for Celestian Tales: Old North, it would be great to be able to complete both games with achievements! Thanks again!

AgateCG:
Awesome!

That includes Old North too?

May finally have to dig into the series.
