Assume the role of an amorphous creature of unknown origins, stalking and consuming those that imprisoned you. Carrion is now available DRM-free on GOG.COM. In this reverse horror action-adventure game, your creature grows and evolves as it tears down its prison and acquires more devastating abilities on the path to retribution.

Visit our Twitch channel on 24th July, at 5 PM UTC, and witness the Carrion gameplay stream from DanVanDam. Be sure to join us, as we expect one of the Carrion’s creators, Krzysztof Chomicki, to appear on stream as well!
So basically "The Thing" from the perspective of The Thing.
Why are there no Galaxy Achievements even though this game has Steam Achievements?

Another case of GOG customers being treated like second-class citizens?

The reason I put that as a question rather than a statement is because on the GOG specific forum for Carrion, there is some ambiguity about this issue, with one person claiming he sees Achievements on GOG but they are 'hidden' (whatever that means), according to what he said.

Does that mean they are coming? Or should his implication that they are be disregarded because it's not correct?

In this case it seems to be just an error in the GOG tags, because I can see them. They are hidden in the sense that it's not made explicit how to get them, but this is because it's a choice of the developers.

Anyway the game looks really great, and the animated trailer is spectacular.

Mister.Wolf: Love the #reverse horror" description :) Seems interesting, will be keeping an eye on the early reviews.

Dogmaus: I have played the demo and it's great, I wished it lasted longer. I have played another 2d pixel art reverse horror, that was more puzzle oriented, but this is on a different level. If you like the concept of being a monster and killing humans you could give the Dweller a chance, it's a nice game but nowhere close to the quality of Carrion.
Thanks for the input and the suggestion, Dogmaus! I haven't tried the Carrion demo yet, but from the trailer and early gameplays it seems like a well explored implementation indeed. Definitely something to try, starting with checking out the demo soon.
Seems like there is a lot of that "Title Name" going on here isn't there?
Has anyone noticed that this trailer (for Carrion) is very similar to the release trailer of Mother Russia Bleeds (at least stylistically)?
"Is this a coincidence? No I don't think so!" (*☉౪ ⊙。)ノ

Oi. OK, now I understand why they are so similar and I like it both :)
I see that Carrion beat CP2077 pre-orders on the bestseller list. That's quite an achievement!
The game looks really cool and innovative, although one thing that puts me off is the length. $20 for a game that will only last 4-6 hours and doesn't look like it has much replay value doesn't seem like great value. Any comments?

The game "Limbo" can be played in 30-35 minutes and the replay value is zero. But the game is totally worth the money.
Judging a game by considering only the number of hours, but not considering the quality (and fun), is shortsighted.
At a glance it's blob simulator with half decent use of pixels graphics but I would say it would be better suited to tablet or Switch systems.

We pay $15 dollars for a two hour movie theatre experience that you can't replay any time you want, it's all just a matter of perspective.

Hmm, those are good points. Personally, my gaming budget is a bit limited atm, so if I spend $20 on a game, I want something that's going to last me a good while. Just me though.
I actually watch the gameplay on youtube for the first 15 minutes and to be honest it looks amazing. I think this game has potential for bigger and better sequel.
