GOG.com: To celebrate, the first game is 50% off for a week.
Meanwhile on GamesPlanet UK : The Whispered World Special Edition 90% off £1.70
Fools, said I, you do not know...
Still no news for the german version for Satinav and Memoria? So still no release buy for a Daedalic game...
That is an impressive trailer, for a movie. Honestly! No gameplay footage what so ever.

As if regional pricing, splitting previous games which essentially equals to price high-jacks, multi-language support for certain previous games yet to be added, as if all this was enough, Silence now comes bare-bones, and one has to purchase each extra separately? I don't think so, Daedalic, so definitely this:

I bought it here last year for 2.99 Euros.

Silence is wishlisted for now, but I'll pick it up soon. The price is OK for me.

Odd.
Demo - Works on: Windows (7, 8, 10)
Game itself - Works on: Windows (7, 8, 10), Mac OS X (10.9+) and Linux (Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 16.04)

Not odd. Economical. Or stingy, however you look at it.

Bad marketing, really. To go from game to demo is not at all difficult or time-consuming. Why bother developing for another platform if they are going to so clearly dismiss and disregard the customers using that platform?

I mean, if they cannot be bothered to put out a demo for Mac, then they're probably not going to put out patches, or bugfixes, for Mac either. Those things are much harder than just re-coding a bit and removing assets.
well i got the demo from steam... yes from steam... i dont want to fill up my gog account with too many demos which i will have to hide if i dont like the game, as for the steam account, i dont care if it has lots of bad games :D
I am a big gog fan and steam is just for fun, and some cheap HOG(Hidden Object games)

Anyway back to the demo:

since my pc is a dinosaur :

quad core 2.67 8 gb ram
win7 64bits
gst 250 1 GB ram

i tried the game at lowest available settings

My 2 cents on the demo version

it is huge (guess the video and sounds take most of it)

1} windowed resolution doesn't show the subtitles , they appear below the visible window so you can't read them
2) fastest graphics settings at lowest resolution still high cpu usage
demo feels 'laggy' , graphics look blurry and fuzzy

3) legs disappear all of a sudden (check attachment) legsdisappear.jpg

The room seems to turn around a bit when moving (never saw a real room turning or rotating when walking)
Animation has awkward hand movements, as if the character doesnt know where to put his hands.

small remarks:

Why does the mouse over menu need to display an animation on it?
color changes already so the user can see what he/she has highlighted, no need for extra animation.

The background of the possible replies you can give in the demo looks modern, the game setting looks like ww2 judging from the ww2 like planes flying, so a dark grey half transparent bar like all games usally have would do.

All this at 29.99 is a bit wow...

If these things werent present and the game was better optimised for all computers, and the graphics were 2d instead of some blurry 3d engine i might have bought the game cause the story looks interesting
and i like point and click adventures.

As it is now i wait for a major sale (75% of or so) or wait for similar games which arent 3d and can be run at recommended, am not looking for game that will run at minimum cause that would be to frsutarting to have lag all the time while gaming.

:D same here.... 2.99 in 2015 sales
havent played it yet cause at 3 euros its okay, i always play the games if they were bought at listprice cause its important to see what i bought, the lower the price the longer it takes before i play it.
I have lots of 99 cent games i havent even downloaded :D
Thanks for another game with a demo, which enabled me to see that it will indeed run on my 6-year old Vista PC. I'm beginning to wonder if I should pay any attention at all to all the newer releases that do not proclaim that they will work on Vista. Maybe it has more to do with one's PC's specs than with the OS. Anyway, I didn't play too far into the demo because I haven't played Whispered World yet, but this game is now going onto my wishlist for much later, when it is affordable to me.

fronzelneekburm: Ahh, yes, Daedalic...

How about adding multi-language support for Memoria and The Dark Eye, now that they're regionally priced (and have been for quite some time)? That would be much appreciated indeed!
Even on humble the DRM-free version of both games is multi lingual so basically Daedalic is screwing GOG and their customers here so I say screw them too - won't buy. Also this is much too expensive for an adventure running 4-5 hours max. 50% off at least to make this attractive.

Zoidberg: I understand but the best is to ignore such devs... reminding them now and again is good though, to see what they lose...
Imo it is best to attack those devs each day (or each few days) with e-mails requesting this so they'll see that we won't forget! Motly devs and publishers tend to just wait until the sorm is over but we have to be a neverending storm because we paid and therefore secured their existence - never forget this.

Warning: The DEMO does spoil the WW ending quite a lot.

A reminder is fine, no need to overdo it and getting on borderline harrasment though. I'm pretty sure you have better things to do than that anyway. ;)

I can see no harrasment in making them angry about the fact that they don't give me what I paid for (meaning game updates in general not the additional languages which in this case weren't even part of the package). Whenever devs tend to ignore me I tend to make them angry because they already have my money and I want what I have paid for - it is a matter of principle and I don't mind the few seconds for an additional e-mail or even a post on their facebook where everybody can see that I am a unsatisfied customer. Unfortunately today many people simply don't fight anymore and just accept the fact that they cannot change a thing (which simply is wrong). As a reminder: it took me several months to get the blackguards patch (which fixed a game breaking bug) here to GOG - in the several mails I received from different people from Daedalic one person did not know what the other said and if or when the fix will be ready or arrive at GOG or not - in general there was much chaos and not a clear answer - imo this is unacceptable. Especially Daedalic had MUCH better customer support when they were still a small company - unfortunately that is not the case anymore.
