A fantasy point and click adventure in traditional 1990s style – we’re talking, of course, about Brownie's Adventure, now available on GOG!

Dark humour, player choices that have impact on your outcome and hours of daft shenanigans. In this hilarious parody adventure set in a vaguely renaissance fantasy world you play as “Brownie”. Brownie is a sub manager of a local pilchard press in his home town of Schtinkberg. A simple man, in the midst of a mid life crisis. He awakes from a terrible dream featuring his permanently angry boss and a poorly animated unicorn... the rest is up to you.

Now on GOG!
Thank you!!
Looks very-very interesting. Reminded me of Diskworld.
Wishlisted.
I'll wait for first reviews.
high rated
I'm not sure if I've ever seen a game with such bizzarely inconsistent graphics. Despite being solo developed, it looks like something made by two or three different people who didn't communicate at all.

I love point & cklicks, but I think I'll pass, at least unless by the time it's on sale the review are absolutely stellar.

GOG.com: Release: Brownie's Adventure
Another game, where the mix of graphical styles keep me from buying.
The first sceenshot?
If the whole game would be in that style, I would buy it.
Sure, the characters stand out, as they are not quite consistent with the BG, but I could live with that.
Animated "sprites" are harder to do than static backgrounds. I get that.
The second screenshot, while not consistent with the first screenshot, is a map - and I don't expect maps to be done the same way as the rest - so that's ok, too.
My "problems" start with the third screenshot.
Here - nothing fits together, anymore.
Same with the fourth.
The fifth looks like it was taken from a complete different game, again.
The sixth?
Simply compare the menu font in this, with the menu font in the third...
Let's jump to the tenth.
That's a map again...but completely different in style than the map in the second screenshot.

The first map looks very Monkey Island.

Exactly my thoughts. I wonder if the backgrounds, which look very good, have been made by AI. The characters look totally out of place. A shame, I love pixelated P&C games but this looks too strange to me.

Some of the BGs are definitely photos that got put through a digitizer.
No.

I have decided to boycott works made by AI. I want art made by people, for people, not stolen from artists to make artists starve.
Is this game made with IA for graphics? There is a diference in graphics between screens. I prefer look a demo before.

GOG is doing it for you. They noticed your constant bitching under every single news post about anything, so they put extra effort into looking for pixel releases :D

Well, a lot of the screenshots seem to be from the second game - which on that other store also has this:

"
AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

The game's backgrounds are started as public domain AI generations and, cropped, shaded, altered & animated by hand.

ChatGTP has been used to translate elvish to phonetic english to be voice recorded for parts of a fantasy radio programme."

Guess they don't understand everything generated by AI is public domain because it cannot be copyrighted - unless its - you know - actively generating FROM copyrighted content (which it always is).

So yeah, you can def say its AI garbage. Don't care if they did anything with it.

This looks pretty good, just my type of game.
