BreOl72: "Apart from that, there's an easy solution to your (and everyone else's) problem: simply ignore me."
As long as you practise what you preach. Don't like unverified reviews? Ignore them. Don't like people discussing pricing? Don't sit there hurling personal insults, just ignore them. Don't want people to leave a reminder in a release thread for a remake that you can buy the original version of a game much cheaper? Don't do it yourself then...
It's one of the sad facts of life, that way too many people let their personal bias get in the way of objective reading comprehension.

In their imagination, they read "statements", that - in reality - have never been expressed.

AI trained on art stolen from the internet is fucking horrible.
AI that costs people's jobs is fucking horrible.
AI that's used for backgrounds and key frames looks fucking horrible.
Undisclosed AI usage is fucking horrible.
Cry some more and then learn to....plumb.
(aside: ironic how artists who often 'borrow' copyrighted characters to make money will complain about AI 'stealing' from them)

mk47at: The first one is low-res, the audio is garbage and it has deaths.
I think the deaths actually make the game better...they add a bit of fun to the game(watch out lest you get a game over!). That aside, you make a number of good points with this post.

Maybe they should add some new areas to some of the older games?
Idea: the bad guys chase George and Nico through a Salt Mine, hijinks ensue.

And the award for the worst message on this thread goes to... this specimen. Congrats!

lukaszthegreat: It is not upscale. It's brand new textures, characters, animation.

Revolution software is small company which managed to survive when every other got eaten by massive corporations.

And you guys are angry because they used tools to make it and are charging money for over a year of work?

If they do not charge if they did not use those tools we would never got this game. They do not have spare millions of dollars to throw.

That's why neither bs5 or bs6 are using hand drawn characters and animations because it's just too darn expensive to do so in high resolution and 30fps.

Just so weird to complain about it. Getting angry over that...

MarkoH01: I guess the complain is about the amount of money they still demand. Yes, they had additional work in repainting backgrounds and yes, they also did some additional programming work (the game does not switch from old to new graphics through magic and also the UI and help system got changed - even AI has to be programmed). However it's still not a new game and therefore several people are saying that 30 bucks is a bit too steep - especially since most of those already own the game twice. It's basically the same people are saying when it comes to the remasters Nightdive does ... these are also in most cases 20 bucks or more. Everybody has to decide by themselves if they want to pay the asking price. If not and if they are still interested they have to wait for a discount ... that's what we do with every new release, right? :)
It's 43 aud here. Two big mc meals and extra nuggets.
Less than half of what new game costs.

Seems fair for the amount of fun this game is and how much a small studio work on it but of course it's up to buyer to decide if it's worth their money.

BreOl72: Which begs the question: if you already own the game (once, twice or maybe even thrice) - why would you want it a fourth time, at all?
avatar
BreOl72: I own all five games in the series (not this latest iteration, though) - therefore I have an interest.
So do you read your own posts too? Because you are answering your own questions.

49 AUD here, according to a currency calculator.
Two pizzas from our local (absolutely excellent) pizza pusher.

I can understand people finding it surprisingly pricey. Still, I snapped it up without hesitation. Launch price is probably for us unabashed fanboys of the franchise. Others will wait for a deep discount.

Speaking of discounts, the Director’s Cut was on sale for half the price of a 0.5l bottle of Coca Cola last week.
It includes the original as an extra, so I can’t see why people get into such a “censorship is bad” fit over changes in the remaster, when the original remains available.
