At first, I liked what I saw.
But then the trailer introduced werewolves and "three-headed lizard monsters".

Edit: after reading some user reviews on Steam, I can say with determination, that this is no game for me.

For those curious, there is a demo available elsewhere.

Would "Every decision matters, every loss is permanent" mean no free saving and reloading? I'm not seeing anything indicating that among the tags, but...?

Is there? I don't see any evidence of one. There is a Linux version on Steam, though.

Look on the sidebar, there's a "Download Demo" link.

Guess I can answer my own question. Don't know whether things changed since that post, of course, but if it stays true, it's not just no free saving, but not even saving when you quit, just automatic saving every morning... Talk about no respect for player's time...
