Erase your enemies from the Space Race

Battlezone 98 Redux, the grand return of the legendary sci-fi strategy/action hybrid, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com, with GOG Galaxy support for achievements and multiplayer and a 33% launch discount.

We know a lot of crazy things happened in the 60's but what about those we have no clue about? What if the USA and the Soviets had already conquered space travel and were blasting each other across our solar system, trying to gain control over an alien bio-metal?
The answer is presented in explosive fashion in one of the most unique, addictive blends of RTS and first-person action around.
Transform Venus, Titan, Mars, and even the Moon into a massive battlezone, exchanging rockets with your enemies' MAG Cannons, Cold Fusion Lasers, Howitzers, and other weapons of fun destruction. The heavily remastered HD visuals bring the two campaigns and the intense multiplayer that extra flair they need in order to recapture the hearts of those who have fond memories of the game, and those who are eager to join them.

Side with either the Soviets or the USA as they turn space into a Battlezone 98 Redux, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 33% discount will last for the duration of the Summer Sale.
Awesome release!
Just a bit of nitpicking. "Battlezone 98 Redux" was certainly not released in 1998, as the store page tries to tell us... ;)

Thanks for the info! :) I saw some gameplay videos and it's not really my cup of tea. It reminded me of the other similar game, Uprising, which I passed too. What I like though is the "floaty" movement of the tanks, it looks nice in the videos and I bet it "feels" nice too! Maybe I'll try it much much later in another sale with a bigger discount but for now I'll pass.

1998 was the release of the "modern" Windows Battlezone 1, itself a remake of the 1980something Atari game

edit : Redux was released end April

It's a valid strategy. Wait a bit, and you'll get it at -66% I guess.

Uprising is indeed similar, but Battlezone is more athmospheric. Cold war continued in space, with a mix of strategy and action, and some resource management

Who's talking about Battlezone 1? It's not even available here in the store.
The release dates on the store pages are the release dates of the products on offer.
Just look at the release dates of the store pages for Metro 2033 Redux, Pure Pinball Redux or Zak McKracken Remaster for example...

Just saw your edit. Yes, that's the release date of the product that is being offered. Hence this is the date that should be shown on the store page as release date... :)

Edit #2: Did i just wrote "Zak McCracken Remastered" there? Lol, i meant Day of the Tentacle Remastered. Derp...

Great game.Too many bugs, overpriced, and no expansion.Would have to be retarded to buy this in this state.Question for people who got this,is original included as a separate game?

I thought there was a Battlezone game in the late 90's which was developed by Pandemic. Is that a different game or am I just not remembering correctly?

This is a remaster of 1998's Battlezone. It had a sequel the following year, Battlezone 2, which was developed by Pandemic.

Ah, thank you for explaining. I hope the Battlezone game from Pandemic (Battlezone '99?) eventually appears on GOG as well
multyplayer actions gog and steam platforms? steam worckshop?
I can't say I'm surprised, because this release had been in the air for some time... but I am none the less happy for that! I am very intrigued by this game (never played it back then), but it's one for the future. Wishlisted.

I think it's a bit overpriced, too. As to your question: from the store page it seems the answer is negative, but I would like to hear from buyers as well.

EDIT: maybe the original version isn't included as a separate entity, but you can switch between "original" and "remastered" version from within the game.

BattleZone2 was not nearly as good as the first one though. Less athmospheric, plaqued by design faults ( even 16 years later, I remember how frustrating the behvioural patern of the units were, forcing you to micromanage things). Its mission were also shorter, simpler.

On the other hand, that game supported Advanced graphic modes, and an unoffical patch did make it compatible with modern OS's, so at least technically , releasing it here would be fairly easy, no need to "remaster" it. But then, at the price of a classic , not of a "redux". Or then, they should bring together Battlezone 2 with Battlezone Gold ( thu including Red Odissey and its Chinese campaign)
It looks like Redux version will receivce The Red Odyssey expansion in form of DLC:
