Who let the blobs out?

A Boy and His Blob, a reimagining of the endearing puzzle-platformer, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com for Windows, Mac, and Linux, with a 15% launch discount.

Earth is being invaded! Again! By a cute white Blobolonian, seeking help to overthrow the evil Emperor terrorizing its home planet. Luckily, it happens upon an equally charming earthling, and the unlikely duo ventures into Blobolonia, armed with only their determination, their inventiveness, and a backpack full of the alien's favourite snack: jelly beans.

Blobolonia is not a very friendly place, though, so it's fortunate that the lovely Blob is made out of highly huggable but also extremely flexible materials. Need a ladder, a trampoline, a parachute or a protective bubble? Perhaps a bowling ball or a devastating mech? Just fetch the right jelly bean from your trusty backback and let your shapeshifting friend take care of the rest. Because all you need when exploring a colorful alien world filled with angry blobs, is a caring companion and some imaginative cooperation. Oh, and an unlimited supply of unhealthy snacks.

Follow the trail of jelly beans and have a taste of the amazing adventures of A Boy and His Blob, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 15% discount will last until January 26, 4:59 PM GMT.
This looks cute and fun!
I prefer the old school graphics, but I'll pick this up during a sale.
... aaaand bought.

The nostalgia is strong with this one, since I remember playing the original back on the NES. In fact, I might still have the cartridge somewhere. This looks like a nicely crafted remake of the original game. Much lower price than I anticipated, as well.

And this is by the same developer team as that 2D BloodRayne game?

PaterAlf: Wasn't de Blob a freeware game on PC?
There were two versions of de Blob. One that was free on the PC that started as a college project and an enhanced/expanded one that was published by THQ on the Wii and later bought by Nordic when THQ shut down.
My God. Between this and Darkest Dungeon, there's actually a couple of really cool games today.

I'll wait to see how the port turned out, but I suspect this is going to be the definitive release of A Boy and His Blob.

vicklemos: Now Nordic gotta bring us de Blob and Deadly Creatures, two of the best games on the amazing Wii!
Hear me, Nordic?! :D

deBlod, A Boy and his Blod or Das Book?
;P
can you rebind your gamepad buttons?
Considering the title-wordplay of "A boy and his dog"* the screen shorts are surprising cute and family friendly.

*which is about a very young man (young Don Johnson) with a telepathic link to a cynical dog (Dogmeat ;) ) which he uses to find woman to rape in a post-apocalyptic world. Besides Mad Max and a few others this sick flick was a big inspirational source to the Fallout series.
