WierdScience: I just got an email from support:
"Since you have already made an attempt to download content for that game, we're unable to offer you a cash refund, however we can make a one-time exception converting your purchase into GOG Wallet funds"
I replied to just forget the refund and I'd keep trying. I'm going to try using my linux box instead of that disappointing windows 10 laptop. I should have much better results. If that still results in failure; I'll just get a thumb drive and head over to a computer lab and mooch off there internet.
Goodaltgamer: I've been using firefox. I've started backing up the .part file. Makes continuing a disrupted download easier. My connection type is the slowest (and cheapest) dsl.
Thanks molerat, molerat, & Goodaltgamer for replying and assistance
Firefox also has DownloadthemAll which I've become dependent on.
