freakiebeakie: i buy them at CJS cdkeys, never had any problems there with invalid keys
avatar
PaterAlf: Your best call is to ask CJS's support (if there is any) to refund your money. I fear that GOG won't be able to help you.
i have a ticket with CJS and GOG, like i said, i'm a happy customer for a few years now at CJS so before i go beserk i will wait what support has to say about this. i know keys from cdkey sellers have been blocked by steam in the past but it never happened to cdkeys that i have bought at CJS and i have a few games that had that problem with steam.

lets hope it stays with this one mistake and that they fix it for me, if not then its time to look for a other cdkey seller :)

freakiebeakie: Hey all,

today i bought the cd keys for the witcher 3 wild hunt and a dlc for that game.
when i try to redeem the game i get the message Oeps something went wrong please refresh the page and try again.
it wont show information about the game but just fails. is this a problem with the GOG website or is my cdkey wrong?

when i fill in the dlc key it shows the information but wont let me redeem it because i don't have the game yet :(
any help is appreciated!
You bought CD-keys? Sounds suspicious, AFAIK the only legit way to buy a W3 CD-key is to buy the game on disc... by the omission, it sounds like you didn't buy a disc?

If you go berserk, please do so at the proper people. (CJS and yourself.) this one isn't gog's fault.

freakiebeakie: i buy all my games there for a few years now and never had problems before.
this is the first gog key tho, normally its for uplay or steam etc, but this one was a bit cheaper so i thought lets go for gog this time. it will probably all end well i gues, i will seee :)
Unlike with Steam, there are no legit resellers of GOG keys. So if ever you see someone selling them, you know something dodgy is going on. You've been lucky with your previous purchases there, but with GOG keys 100% of them are dodgy so your luck ran out. Hopefully you can get a refund (from your dodgy key site obviously, you haven't given GOG any money for them to give back).

tinyE: Obviously it's not an official GOG seller, because only GOG is
There are a few official GOG sellers, Amazon, uPlay, Origin, and a few indie developers sell GOG keys, but most often than not, the reseller is not official.

Amazon, uPlay and Origin also sell GOG keys for TW3. Not sure if Humble also does, but doubt if there are many more official sellers.

All that says is other sites are very lax on checking and removing stolen or illegally got keys. Never use key re-sellers, they are the digital equivalent of very bad used car sales men!
Okay I think he gets the point. :P

Lets see what happens before we have any more fun. :D

Or stop giving your money to people who sell stolen keys?

You know how a lot of keys on these sites are obtained? Thieves buy gift codes with stolen credit cards and then try and sell the keys before the credit card is cancelled and the money charged back. So the credit card company issues a chargeback to GOG, who refund the money to the CC company and then cancel the key. By this point, you're the one who is out of pocket. :/

GOG support is looking into it, im not going beserk on them :P it is probably a problem at CJS. but before i blame anyone i will first wait what they both have to say. and yes it is the first GOG key i have bought so far. since i never experienced problems with uplay, steam or any other key from CJS i thought this would work also.

tinyE: HEY! I know that guy!

I bought "Bag of Glass" from him! My kids loved it, ya know!
They were good products! Good products! Y'know? But ya gotta change with the times y'know? So we got into the steamkey business. Y'know? Sold all over the world. Y'know you try a key it don't work, you get a second key that one works. Y'know it's not really a problem, y'know, in my view, y'know? At these prices, I mean, it's just completely fine. Save more in the end, y'know? So maybe a key blows up your machine, maybe you get sued as part of class-action lawsuit, it's an isolated case y'know? It's lively, variety is the spice and all that. It's real good.

Hmm, didn't know that! It would have been hilarious if they'd done that on Steam too. Can you imagine the rage? :B

ValamirCleaver: This is what happens you purchase from key "resellers"...

You mean the fact that those who patronize key resellers seem to never bother to logically ponder why said keys are resold at such lower prices?...

That logic applies to everything.

And if they happen to do so I'll never admit it!
