I recommend a remake of Star Control 2, The UR Quan Masters. Wow that is one interesting space exploration/adventure/combat game. It is really interesting, has good sound effects and voice acting. I liked it a lot on 3DO, now it has been remade and is great. You can just download UR Quan Masters off the internet. If you don't know about it, try it, you will most likely like it.. UR Quan Masters!!!

Thanks for sharing the info. I'll check it.

If you own Star Control 2, get it here if you do not, you can combine assets from it with The Ur Quan Masters and get something better than either alone.

I enjoyed The Ur Quan Masters a lot too :-) except I found the 2D combat hard after getting used to combat in 3D space. Good game, fun game.
Since I've only played (and finished) the original Star Control 2 a long time ago and not Urquan Masters remake...

I seem to recall that in the original version, in order to find certain planet, you needed to use tips to locate it in the paper map or something. I guess it was one form of copy protection, ie. if you didn't have the paper map, you couldn't find the planet on your own.

In case I am not remembering that part wrong, how is it handles in this remake? Do you still need to check some PDF map for the same purpose?

Sorry my memories are hazy as it has been a long time ago since I played SC2... In fact I may have even asked this same before.

I haven't played it enough where I have had to use a starmap to continue the game. I don own starcontrol 2 here on gog and that game comes with the startmap. Its an awesome game, lots of fun collection minerals from diffrent planets. The combat is probably the weakest part of the game.
