It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

By mobile I mean:

1. Able to be run easily on a portable laptop (Surface).
2. Feature save anywhere.
3. Not very complicated control scheme - ie, mouse as primary friendly.

I've found it more efficient to just carry the laptop around on the go than a stack of books, but not many games seem to actually fit. GOG is the preferable download platform as a lot of firewalls seem to forget/not know about GOG (but readily block Steam).

Edit:
Keyboard is available (as an attachment), but using the mouse tends to make it easier.
Games that have worked: Doom, Wolf3D, Quake 1, Uprising.
Games that work... but with trouble: Unreal (crashes and overheats frequently), Avernum: Escape from the Pit (runs well, but hot as hell)
Games that don't work: Project Warlock (can run at maybe 10FPS on all low settings).

Somewhat ashamed to admit it, but yes.

I shifted toward there after a lot of games that I personally like kept getting rejected here. There was no way around it at that point.

I think we all assumed 'mobile' to mean phones... at least that's in the common language right now.

Quick question. Keyboard/touchpad or no? (Surface suggests it's a touch screen)

Okay, i'll keep an eye out. there are more "mobile" games there.

Right now I'm playing a really simple, really stupid game about killing people called Death Coming but it may be too simple and too stupid. :P

Keypad ok. I have a portable mouse, but for reference the tablet runs Uprising fairly well, but Avernum remakes burn a hole in my pants.

Edit: Appreciate all of the recs, it's hard to gauge what kind of limitations a game has before trying to start it.

alright, i was afraid it would be ONLY touch, effectively a PC version of a tablet (which i remember seeing similar machines back in the late 90's once or twice).

Hmmm....

Point & clicks would work well.
Turn based games (rogue-likes, 4X games)

TIS-100 and Schenzhen IO should work. (the other two i wouldn't suggest)
Sanctuary RPG
Escape Goat (Maybe? Depends on the keyboard)
Crypt of the Necro Dancer
Reccetear
Bird Story, To the Moon
Knights of Pen&Paper (might be mouse heavy, but plenty of shortcuts)
Blocks that matter, Tetrobot & Co
Beat Buddy (Maybe?)
Defender's Quest (Maybe?)
Race the sun
FTL
Unepic
Braid
Little Inferno
Human Resource Machine / 7 Billion Humans

Roguelikes:
Clarc
Tales of Maj'Eyal
The pit
Bionic Dues
Oh, you mean a tablet PC, not actually a mobile.

Oh nice, so those can be save anywhere then?

I may have been too narrow with what I was trying.

Save anywhere? Hmm missed that requirement. A lot of games, roguelikes for sure will allow save anywhere, same with point and clicks.

Not crypt of the necro dancer, pretty sure it's per run, nor Race the sun; But pretty much everything else should save just about anywhere.
For now, I started Dr. Dungeon's Madman, another item of potential interest that GOG rejected.

The character creation was fairly standard and not a pain in the ass, and the interface seems mousefriendly, and the graphics are not destroying my heat.

Will review once I am far enough in.
Hmmm... I remember GeneForge (turn based RPG game) being really good, the only downside is the graphics needed more variety, but should be fine on a laptop/mobile PC.
FTL and Into the Breech would both be good options here.
Tales of Maj'Eyal, any PC can run it and it's one of my most played games ever.

The full game is also available for free at the website if you want to try it out, but some convenience stuff is missing.
