It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

As the title says, I'm looking for a browser. But there are some criterias to be met, so I thought I'd ask the GOGers about their experiences and advices.

So here are the criterias :
- must be working on my Samsung Galaxy Tablet S (android 4.4.2)
- must have a built-in Flash player complete compatibility. I'd rather do without Flash, but the site I'm using for my studies requires Flash player...
- must have a decent security level. I'm not planning to buy anything online with it, but I'd still need to enter an ID and a password for the website.
- must not need my device to be rooted.

So, if you have any advice or recommendation, I'm all ears! ^_^

What are you currently using?
Lol, Flash on Android has been dead for a long time since Adobe dropped development for it. And it was horrible with security issues anyway. Flash is the opposite of security.

Dolphin Jetpack is an addon for the Dolphin browser that supports flash, but I do not trust them at all due to allegation of security issues in the past.

If you want security, Ghostery browser is very good because it block trackers and in turn ads as well.

I know there is/was one popular browser that render flash through their server, but when I used the first version it had horrific EULA saying it will track what you do, I guess they clean it up with more 'professional' sounding language with the later version.
Edit: It was Skyfire, but is sold to Opera. Opera is owned by Chinese company now.

Dude, you're asking about 2 different browsers here.

^This for sure. They stopped developing Flash for Android a while back, so Flash is only unofficially supported and can be a huge security risk.

Dolphin Browser (with or without Jetpack).

I personally use it without Jetpack because sites like GOG load incorrectly with it.

1. So far so good. This is reasonable.
2. This is not. Flash was killed on Android some long time ago in 2011. In Ice Cream Sandwich. Links to try and find a Flash APK lead to a dead end on Adobe's website.
3. Which would not mix with the above request.
4. This is simple.

Yell at the website maker to drop support for flash, and show them the lot on the articles along with browsers discontinuing support for flash...sometime around now.
Haha, guys, yeah I know I'm asking for the impossible and believe me, I'd prefer not to touch Flash ever again!

But I have no choice, since the site is an institutional one, and you know how slow administration can be to change things. So, whether I like it or not, I have to use Flash.

To be honest, I could do without accessing that site on my tablet. It runs on my desktop. But as I have some off-time at work, can't head back home every time and can't really use computers at work for my personal use, I thought I'd give it a try on my tablet, just to stay productive.

But thanks for the suggestion about Dolphin browser and its add-on. I'll definitely give it a try later today and report how it worked.

I have another question about my tablet, but I think I'll make it a separate thread, so I can reward separately people who help me!

Couldn't you use two different browsers? Use a Flash compatible one only for that particular website, and disable Flash or use a different browser for everything else.

Oh, but for everything else, I already use Firefox and Chrome! It's just that I temporarily need a flash player-compatible browser just for that use...
There's a fork of Firefox called Flashfox that supports flash on newer versions of Android. It's been a while since I needed flash for anything but that's what I have used in the past.

Aaaannnnd Flasfox gets the win! Sorry if I marked Dolphin browser as a solution, it was before seeing your answer and before constating that Dolphin is deemed "not compatible" by the website I wanted to access...

But Flashfox gets the job done!! Thanks a lot!
If you can get a hand on server running Linux or similar, you could install ssh and vnc - on it and bVNC on your android, and remotely connect to that machine from your Android device, thus getting flash content displayed without any performance or security penalty for your device. You could also setup wake on lan and port knocking to make server uptime minimal, me thinks.

As of Linux, Chrome and Firefox support it. For Firefox, you can get latest flash version via pepperflash plugin and dropping flash ppapi binary to corresponding location - and then using FlashDisable extension with ALL options enabled - so flash is only run when you explicitly enable it and on page and place where you enable it.

Lin545: remotely connect to that machine
You Russians, always doing things remotely.
It turns out Adobe started to distribute the updated binaries with both NPAPI(firefox native) and PPAPI(chrome native & firefox via pepper), but NPAPI version has issues when scrolling so PPAPI is still the way to go.

Also as alternative, you could install teamviewer on both devices (in fact any x86 and your android), register it so that you can login without passwords remotely, and then just connect to your x86 from handheld and get browser with flash running. Thats the simplest way ever.
