You don't see almost naked anyone on the front page, that's all in-game content. If you're so afraid of shirtless men then don't take off your equipment in any 3D RPG. You don't need to go as far as actually playing any of them evil scary porn games for that :D

That is true. I should have written 'religious fundamentalists' instead of singling out Evangelicals and Islamists. It's just that the US-centric Evangelicalists tend to be a quite loud group among those that preach hate in the name of a loving God. Mind you, I'm not talking about all protestants. Just the Evangelical movement that has given rise to quite extreme Televangelists and their like.


Why wouldn't I? I would not even restrict this to almost-naked. I'm entirely OK with the depiction of naked humans of either sex. Be it in the form of classic or antique paintings or movies or games. I wouldn't even object to being paraded around as sexual object myself, only I'm not pretty enough that anyone would be interested in that!

The more a naked body is shown in media, or videogames or whatever, male or female, the less sexual object it will become as a pulsion. Just as an aesthetical reality as others in our life.

Realms of Antiquity didn't do well on Steam. The dev said it only sold 500 copies in a year and then in July he got greedy and did a Kickstarter for the game that almost didn't fund and only sold 4 more digital copies of the game. Four.

He did managed to sell a few more physical copies (non-digital) on Kickstarter, but supposedly he was going around trying to convince the same people to buy second box copies of his game but with a larger map! So yeah, everyone that wanted an actual digital copy this game (you know, the type GOG sells) got it already. GOG isn't dumb.

There are so many classic games that need to be on GoG that actually have decent graphics, albeit older ones.

But games that promote and rely on sexuality are also lame. Subverse looks stupid. Large breasts appeal to twelve year olds and immature adults. Small tits are much more fun to play with and don't have the negative side effect of constantly being ogled in public. That annoyed me when I dated a woman with large breasts.

My 2 cents: If GOG intends to have adult-themed games, they should probably have an adult account option (or options) with an internal rating system to prevent risqué or unexamined material from reaching susceptible (e.g. immature) users. There may be healthy approaches to sexuality, but there is no shortage of unhealthy approaches and problematic incentives either. Are there any non-seedy online game vendors out there? (And if so, would it be possible to transfer GOG games to the non-seedy accounts?) Apart from having a clear classification of games according to suggested maturity levels, a non- (or at least less) seedy vendor might make a formal public commitment, for example, not to spontaneously unleash a torrent of x-rated garbage on any or all users now or at any point in the future.
