I know it is strange question but i happen to be quite a fan of several multi installment series of racing games so i notice these things.

There are pages upon pages of most types of games, except racing.
Now do not get me wrong there are some great examples of racing games avalible but i am missing things like:

Test Drive,
Collin McRae Rally,
V-Rally, Sega Rally,
Castrol honda superbike / SBK (insert year - i THINK its same series as the Milestone one),
Moto GP ultimate racing technology.,
Goff Carmmond's formula one grand prix (multi-GENRE defining games!),
Assetto Corsa (or if you are so inclined project cars / rFactor / Automobilista, etc.),
T.O.C.A. Race Driver (both mid 90s and revival early 2'000s),
MTX (and ATV for that matter)
Team17's stunt GP (not a series i grant you but its amazing fun)

Wow there is suspicious ammount of Codemasters stuff there.
Are these games littered with copyrights that are no longer avalible? (reason why i did not include NFS tho it'd fit the bill)
Are racing games somehow uniquelydifficult to obtain?
I am hoping that not all of the above are in same legal limbo as NOLF and Heretic II, that'd be just devastating.

I am slightly sadened by this as most if not all the above would be in my library if i could buy them here.

Unfortunately it's exactly as you feared. Many racing games go off-market because of licensing issues. GOG once had Colin McRae here and was forced to drop it.

Good old classics like Microprose's F1 games are no longer "officially" available because of FIA's licensing issues. And the same applies to other great racing games which used official sponsors.
:(
This question comes again and again. I too would love some racing games here, including Richard Burns Rally wich I've been playing a little over the last weeks.

On a similar post I did some time ago, some people stated Grid and Colin McRae rally were available on GOG at some point.

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/richard_burns_rally

Asseto Corsa will not come here very soon, due the multiplayer nature.

I still have a couple of these games on CD from back then...

I am not sure you remember the licencing on these games well enough, tho i wont claim it is not enough for FIA to be penile about this, CMR, CHS SBK 2K (special non prize if you guess which one team THIS was licensed by), Geoff Carmond / Microprose F1 GP (1 only 1 - rest were FIA licensed), andeven T.O.C.A.'s milenium itteration trilogy were at best licensed through a single team and sometimes not at all. Hell SEGA rally, V-Rally i have no recollection of anny oficiall FIA licensing.

I know i am arguing the winds but damn it urks me so much .(

Right peoples i thank you for participating here, i now have to take a brake and contemplate sad reality where some greedy bastards hold my beloved games hostage.

You're indeed correct!
The first F1 game by Microprose wasn't connected to the FIA. I didn't remember that.
No reason why the game shouldn't be on GOG, then. It's a possiblity that the game could have poor sales because of the primitive graphics. But the gameplay is still brilliant.
It'd be an instabuy for me if the game was sold here.

Here's the wishlist and the Mobygames entries for the game:

Shout-out to Mobil 1 Rally Championship, best rally game ever made.
