The Racing section is very small. There are games like football, that don't belong there. Please add more racing games.
The sports and racing have a combined listing. Every entry in one exists in the other, and in the same order.

You can get a listing of racing games alone by searching for the 'racing' keyword.

As bad as the racing selection may seem, the sports selection is worse. A grand total of 15 entries, more than half of which are 1 game and its DLC. It appears to be about as popular as the movies section.

The thing with racing and sports games is that after 1-2 years (for sports games) the license expire and the publishers don't renew them and usually they delist the game from the store.Probably GOG doesn't want to do that that thing. Also you have to remember that it also depends on the publisher to bring their games here which probably sports games such as fifa , pes and nba will never come here...(Only EA seems to have a longer license for FIFA games but they never published here a game in years...Konami and 2k usually have a license for up to 2 years before they delist their games from steam. For racing games codemasters did have GRID 1 here but that was a long time ago and now that EA bought them they will never release any other games here.

Wow, the sport is even sadder. Football and Olympic challange only.

That only happens with games that are based on some licence.
There are many racing and sports games which are not based on any franchise or IP, and could be sold all the time.

Of course, whether those are the kind of games that people want to play is another thing. If there are no real cars, and no real racing series, obviously no real racing drives either, how much of the racing experience is left?

True. SimBin games, licenced or not are still sold on Steam. Some may be dificult to publish DRM-free though.
On the Sports side, games like Pro Evolution Soccer were not official licenced and were very fun to play, even Single Player carrer mode (IMHO the best football game in the years ~2010). Now that Konami is on board we might get some of them in the future.

Pro evolution soccer is licensed...Team and player licenses have expired let alone the champions league and soundtrack license so there is no chance that they will ever get released again...Probably old pes games such as 5,6 and 10,13, (also 9 and 10 had the best soundtrack) are my favorite but only way is to get the jack sparrow edition..

People only care about Codemasters though, it's the only developer that counts for people who don't play racing games on a regular basis, and we are unlikely to see them here again. Smaller studios? like Milestone, Kylotonn, etc., nobody here would buy their games (personally I like most of them).

Simbin, rFactor, Automobilista, Assetto, ... too niche for GOG, again, nobody here is going to buy them. People who are genuinly into sim-racing would have bought into these a long long time ago on Steam.

So it's not just a licensing issue: there has to be a market for these games on GOG, which there isn't.

Older titles? GOG gets them ocassionally once in a while, like the somewhat recent Zephyr and Cyclemania games.
Personally, I would rather see GOG get older games like these, because I missed out on a lot of them growing up. So I want older racing games like these on GOG, not the newer modern ones.

The issue with sports games is mainly that there's not many coming out, sports games without insidious gambling aimed at minors, I mean.
