Games and game series already in GOG have a dedicated forum each. Thence, questions pertinent to specific games or game series are better addressed in the specific forum. Moreover, in many cases, other members of the community will have addressed the same problem or a very similar one and there will be answers already there, waiting to be checked (feel free to use the search option of the forum liberally). Now that you are there, it is nice to leave some feedback if the suggestions solved your problem, or if they did not.
If your problem has not been addressed, just start a new thread and mark it as a question. That will increase the probability that someone comes to your aid. You can mark it as a favorite thread, so that you may keep watch on it more easily, if you like. Guess what? your thread might help other users that will eventually find the same problem.
What to do if no one answers your plea for help? If you have problems making the game run correctly on your computer, you may contact GOG via a support ticket. Also, but consider this carefully, if you become truly desperate, you might want to try the feature of direct messaging (DM) to someone knowledgeable that has participated in the dedicated forum, but try not to spam anyone. If you ask things nicely, maybe they will find the time to help you with your problem, if they know how. But consider this as a last resource (then, will you be nice enough you share the wisdom learned this way by opening a thread about it?).
In any case, opening a thread in the general discussion forum is not the way to go. It also deprives the dedicated forum of your contribution. Because, with your contributions, you can help the community.
