dudalb: Not sure much is missed since Enhanced Quake, from All I have read, is pretty buggy.
It got a special version of the Dimenions of The Past map pack and a new episode, Dimensions of the Machine. Also new models for enemies and weapons. And all of it seems that already work on most source ports.

Its also getting new stuff from time to time in the form of map packs. The latest one I heard was a "special version" of the original, free mod, as its creator works for Machine games.

Also access to the multiplayer when it was relevant and all that.

So yeah, a bit missed. And a lot pissed.

Feel free to add some sources, I played the whole thing and had zero bugs

works fine on my system, no single bug so far
Having played Quake Enhanced Edition on all platforms available (Steam, Windows/Xbox PS4, & Switch) they all regularly call the following line in the console:

kexSocialTelemetryBNet::LogEvent: Sent_ui_transition event

So its most likely at the moment a good thing its not here, or this is what is holding it up they don't want it not to phone home.
That's interesting, and a possibility, but it's not as though no game on GOG has had telemetry before, e.g. https://www.gog.com/forum/horizon_zero_dawn_complete_edition/data_collection_in_the_gogversion

Or indeed https://www.gog.com/forum/general/telemetry_in_gog_galaxy_20/page1

I know though I'm hopeful mentioning might not lead to another event like these when it does arrive here.

Also its not just that one it seems to send stuff off alot such as when the player completes a level:

kexSocialTelemetryBNet::LogEvent: Sent_level_completed_singleplayer_event

On the one hand, I see what you're getting at, on the other hand, that's a rather shabby excuse, especially since the Enhanced Edition still includes the original, non-Kex'ed version in a separate folder.

More pressing than the missing Enhanced Edition (which was kind of a given, considering the Unity'd Doom updates never showed up here either) is the question why gog saw fit to straight up lie to their customers about a "finalised" gog version. As far as NightDive and/or Bethesda are concerned, I've already taken the necessary steps and won't be buying anything of theirs ever again, lest the feature-complete Enhanced Edition shows up.

I agree, but seeing as we are never going to get an answer to why GOG said it was coming despite Bethesda saying it was never coming to GOG anyway, I thought i'd just say it does track you so if it does ever arrive we don't get a repeat of previous releases where they have contained telemetry when it should of been removed.

I would just assume GOG talked to someone low level who was later contradicted by someone higher level. GOG is still trying to get the update here, so don't want to say anything definitive again. Not everything is complicated.
Yep, communication breakdown may well be the cause, and that can come in many flavors.

Plus there is or was no reason to think the update wouldn't come to GOG, as the Quake 2 update just had. Perhaps there was some reason or factor to think it was likely imminent.

Wires get crossed all the time. A word or three in passing, is not the same as a full commitment, especially over drinks.

Maybe some folk in the companies thought there couldn't be much financial profit, but the success of the Quake 2 update changed their or somebody's mind. Money is the root of all evil as we all know.

Lord_Kane: Quake 2 update?
Did you miss it?

https://www.gog.com/game/quake_ii_rtx

Kind of a demo that is also an update (enhancement).

----------------------------------------------------------

Here we are again, still no Quake Enhanced, but it is on sale again at Epic for $5.98 AUD.

Going by the list of updates at Steam, three so far, it has had some nice improvements, extras, etc.
Quake II RTX was only a NVIDIA release... (not compatible with expansions)

We need a remaster of that, not just a RTX version (that works also with opengl)

No worries.
I've not yet tried it myself, and been a while since I read the detail.
