Bonjours,

I wanted to know if somebody had inquired about a likely appearance of Quake 4 on Gog.
I shall have been able to have it via Steam, but it turns only on widows XP ...

Thank you for your comments!

Nothing official. GOG won't reveal any info about upcoming old games.

It doesn't run only on Windows XP. It's just that the requirements mentioned on its page are the same as they were back in 2005, when the game was released. Obviously, there was no Windows Vista/7/8/10 back then. It's still very possible that the game runs on modern Windows systems, but the developer/publisher can't guarantee it. My advice is to buy it, try it and if it doesn't work, to ask for a refund (since Steam allows for easier refunds nowadays).

Maximusosaurus:
It should work on Win 7.
You will have to wait for it to appear here.
Ok, I don't now if I take this game (No... No... This is solds Steam!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo...)
I have buy Quake 1 and 2 for see the evolution of this license (I have play to Quake 3 on Dreamcast.), but impossible to play to them. it's for that I prefer answer. :P
quake 4 will work on windows 7
you do however need to apply the latest patch http://www.moddb.com/games/quake-4/downloads/quake-4-official-patch-142-full-for-windows
otherwise it wil crash

keep in mind this is for the disc edition ( said patch also eliminates the need for a disc )
the steam edition should come fully patched to v 1.4.2

There is a small problem with Quake 4. It doesn't properly handle video cards with over 512Mb of VRAM. It gets confused, wraps round to a negative number and ultimately acts like you have 64Mb instead.

This can be fixed if you scour the forums and copy the following stuff below into q4base/autoexec.cfg to override it.

I was able to run it on Windows 10, YMMV !

Without an official announcement or reliable leak of information from GOG, Bethesda or id Software, there's no way to know if that is likely to happen or not. Having said that, Bethesda's arrival here at GOG and the games they have already brought to the store make it seem promising that we will see additional titles added in the future. There are strong rumours that Oblivion may be coming next before long, and id Software was always fairly DRM-free and did cool things like release the source code for all of their games after a certain number of years so they're probably open to the idea as well.

As such, I'd speculate that there is a strong chance that we will see Quake 4, DOOM 3, Resurrection of Evil, DOOM 3 BFG, Oblivion and perhaps even Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas some time in the future. Just pure personal speculation however so treat it as such. The only way we can have good reason to believe non-speculatively that such releases may happen however is if Bethesda announces it or someone leaks the information.
Ok, thank's to all for the informations, I will test with my CD (I hope is already ok...) if I can Make what we advised me.
If there is nothing decisive, I wait it on GoG. :P

Thanks all!
