Can somebody identify any good puzzle games featuring light reflection, refraction, and a bunch of other optics operations. I remember playing a really good one shipped on a CD with some magazine in the 90s (Croatian BUG) but I can't remember the title. I remember the angles were being moved in fixed number of degrees which I find more fun to think about from the free-form variety.

Yes, I'm not looking for games trying to implement the logic in 3D or things where it's possible to move your shapes in very small increments or rotate them smootly. Part of the fun i also knowing your standard angles (90,45) and fixed positions.
haven't played it, but saw Senalux in my steam recommendation queue, so that might work if you don't have anything against steam.

and then in the recommended games on that page I saw this game, Octopticom

Try the ReThink series or The Talos Principle.

Edit: My bad, I completely missed where you said you didn't want 3D stuff. Ignore me.

One that I remember is Deflektor. I don't think the original game was ever released on PC, but there should be some freeware remakes that are very similar.
Perhaps:

Clarc

D/Generation

Laser chess

A virus named Tom

Blocks that matter

Tetrobot and Co.

A boy and his robot dog (or something like that, i can't seem to find it)

Senalux looks polished and seems to be using the same kind of mechanich, will check it out thanks!
Also Octopticom seems to be in the same genre, might be worth a look as well.

Cheers!
