Darvond: It's a Linux distro for babies and clueless newbies, running an obsolete version of Ubuntu, which itself is an obsolete version of Debian.
Waah, a distro war!
Ignorance is a bliss so I just use Linux Mint at home. The main reason I decided to go with Mint was when I read that it "provides full out-of-the-box multimedia support by including some proprietary software..." etc. So they are not so gung-ho about such things like some other distros, but their main point is to make it usable for the end-user. That is also a reason why I'd suggest Mint for Windows users, it is probably one of the most hassle-free Linux distros (as far as I can tell) and probably feels somewhat familiar to Windows users.
Either way, Fedora sucks. Fedora users are merely RHEL beta-testers, a bit like buying an in-dev game and never getting the finalized game but forced to move to another in-dev game. If you want to use Red Hat family Linux for free, use CentOS instead, not the freaking Fedora. CentOS is pretty much the free version of RHEL, as far as I can tell (while Fedora is the beta-version of RHEL).
