I'm curious, who get's profit from abandonware? To be more specific, if I buy game on GoG which is available on internet for free as abandonware, will Interplay Entertainment still get part of that money? Or all will go to GoG?

no such thing as abandonware
there are always copyright holders sometimes they choose to express that right
sometimes they dont

a games profits go to their lisensors
The mistake you make here is that once a game is sold again, it is not longer "free" or abandonware. If you download it on such a website it is piracy.

And for games that are sold, part of the money goes to the store (in this case gog), and part of it to the devs and publishers, like it is for any other game sold in any store.

Well, GOG is the retailer of certain games which appear on its site only. They go through the legal process of acquiring the legal right to sell a game from the IP holder, and the IP holder then gets a cut of the price.

Abandonware is very different. Most of those sites get income from advertising, they don't "sell" anything themselves. They also very rarely have any right to distribute the games, nor does the IP holder ever get anything from this.

So to summarise, Abandonware is technically illegal, and does occasionally get followed up and closed, but mostly just borders on the grey areas at the edge.
The most part will go to the owner of the game's rights... And a smaller part to the seller (GOG).

Buy what?

Since you didn't specify what game you are talking about, I'll have to assume it is The Witcher 3.

The Witcher 3 is hardly an abandonware :D I had Battle Chess by Interplay Entertainment in mind when I asked this question.

Well, lucky for you, everything Interplay is on sale this weekend. ;)
