Hi,

I have set my gog games to update automatically. Every now and then, 1 or 2 games update but then it states "set up failed" and "access denied" and "setup was not completed -please correct the problem and run setup again". Not sure what on earth is going on. I may be having a similiar issue with 2 other installed brainwave entrainment programs, so maybe this is not a gog issue. Any suggestions welcome! Thanks!

Okay Try running Galaxy with "Run as Administrator" in it's properties screen

right click the Executable goto properties and in the popup that is there, There is a tab called compatibility click on that and there will be a checkbox marked:

Run this program as an administrator with a little square to the left of that writing click the square which will turn into a square with a little tick inside it and click the button called apply then click the little button called OK

then try re-updating your games.

Yeah, sound like Galaxy doesn't have the permissions to update your games so it fails. Should be easily fixable if you are an admin on your PC by what Freakshow said.

Thanks, I followed your advice and the problem seemed to go away. This business seems to be as a result of a wiindows update which seems to have fouled up my permissions. Unfortunately, some wrong advice on the internet led me to cause further issues with permissions, and so, every now and then, something like this crops up.
