Unfortunately, that error message can have many causes. You have to do some troubleshooting and hope something helps.
1.
Make sure your RAM isn't defective.
2.
Make sure your file system isn't damaged on any of your drives.
3.
Launch CrystalDiskInfo to make sure your drives are healthy.
4. Make sure you don't have a malware infestation. This can be tricky. At the very least install
MalwareBytes, update its definitions, then run a full scan. Then update WIndows Defender's definitions and do the same.
If everything checks out above,
5. Install both
vc_redist.x86.exe and
vc_redist.x64.exe, then restart your system.
6. You can try
a clean boot if the problem persists.
If it still won't work,
open a support ticket, if you haven't already. Tell the chatbot the issue is of type "other" twice to skip to that step. Zip up the
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\logs folder and attach it to your ticket. Be sure to mention the troubleshooting steps you've already tried, so you don't get the same suggestions again.
