Hi there.

Can someone tell about the purpose of the file "galaxyoverlay.exe". I am asking because the task of this file frequently occupies half of my cpu power (not good for my poor 3.2GHz DC --> fps goes down). However, when I kill this task still everything is fine with my games (currently Grim Dawn).

Is it possible to avoid the task from starting?

Thanks in advance

Well... judging from its name only, I'd assume it's something like Steam overlay, ie. something that runs in the background and tracks your progress in games (stats, achievements) and gives you access to social functions of Galaxy. If I'm correct, it's the reason you use Galaxy and don't download standalone installers instead.
Have you tried unchecking the overlay option in galaxy settings? That should turn it off while you're playing.
I use Galaxy only for downloading and updating. So I deactivated the overlay option.
