Prepare for a remake of the cult first-person action game based on a graphic novel series by Jean Van Hamme and William Vance. XIII – Remake is now available in pre-order on GOG.COM. Shortly after the assassination of the US president, you wake up, wounded and with amnesia, on a deserted beach on the east coast. With only two clues as to your identity - a tattoo of the number XIII and a locker key – you set off to discover your past.

Pre-order the game on GOG.COM and you'll receive a 25% discount lasting until the game's premiere on 10th November 2020. On the same day, the Golden Classic Weapon Skins Pack and the original XIII game will also be added to your library, if you have placed the pre-order.

So far, to me it doesn´t look to be the remake the game deserves...
...hopefully, I´m wrong.

Crisco1492: Most important question: do we get to end the story, or do they end with another cliffhanger? That's a break or make issue for me.
Considering they say they're using the same music and voices from the original Ubi release, I doubt they'll change anything other than what they did with the graphics, probably some QoL and gameplay tweaks, too. Unless they had recordings that were cut from the final game, ending the story in any other way doesn't seem likely, to me.

Personally, I'm just going to stick to the original. It runs great, it plays great and, in my humble opinion, the early cel shading style has so much more charm than this "realistic shaded" thing they're going for, with the remake. Mind you, that's just my personal preference.

Hopefully, considering they're no longer limited by memory cards, they add a proper PC FPS save system and let people save any time, which is my only gripe with the original.
50€ for a game that went on sale* barely weeks after release back in the days cause it didn't sell.

Looks like some people didn't learn anything.

*and completely free with a VG magazine.
Just saw that Microids were releasing this. Why did UbiSoft pass on the remaster?
The signs are against the success of this game tbh.
Microids as a publisher is a bad sign, the developers who don't communicate with the community and only react to these so called journalists, the plain new graphics and the preorder was already on sale on steam for 31%.

Nah, just wait until it is 50+% off in 3 months
A full playthrough of this game is already available on youtube in german.
The performance seems to be inconsistent and there's lots of screen tearing. Don't know if there's a day 1 patch for this.

Also, for those that played the original game and are wondering if this ends differently, it doesn't. It's exactly the same ending.

It's a shame.
When do you release? Has been 10th november for about 11 hours now?!

What? Are you kidding me?
Then it definitely is overpriced and I would wait for a deep discount before buying it.

Yes, I can send you the link if you want.

I was kind of hoping this wouldn't be the case, and that they'd take this opportunity to make something better and that would go beyond the ending of the original, but no, they didn't. Now I fear we'll never get a proper sequel.
What will happen to the old game that i can play yet i still haven't gotten it since i didn't buy it yet.

You doesn´t have to, I believe you, I was just expressing my disillusion over this not having a proper ending as well.
This is a missed opportunity and I fear the game will tank and, as you said, we´ll never see the proper conclusion to the story.

Mon dieu...
I just watched the video...
Well, the developers sure did a number on this game. The suitably fatidic number XIII.
