Warhammer 40K: Gladius - Relics of War Deluxe Edition is now available for pre-order 10% off, DRM-free on GOG.com.
When the imperials unearthed a bunch of ancient relics on Gladius Prime, they unwittingly set off a bloody chain of events. An ancient horror now stirs beneath the colonies and the planet soon turns into a chaotic, turn-based arena of brutal conflict between the Astra Militarum, the Orks, the Necrons, and the Space Marines. Face friends or AI opponents in the first 4X turn-based strategy set in the Warhammer 40K universe, and make Gladius your field of glory.

Carradice: Do you think that it would make sense a Total War: Warhammer 40.000 game?

muttly13: I am guessing you mean the ranged aspect? I would say yes, take a look at Total Warhammer, plenty of range there and a huge part off 40k is melee. Granted, they will need to do something to keep it balanced, perhaps similar to playing a goblin army in TWH. They could also do smaller scale, more terrain. Something of that nature.
I would love to see a TW:W40K game. The TW:Warhammer game is very satisfactory, and for many even the best Total War game so far.

The range would be OK, after all they have plenty of range in other games.

What would be intriguing is how would the campaign play be, in a world where there are fast vehicles and possibilities to move troops, especially starships, spaceports, orbital drops... How would they incorporate it in the campaign so that it all makes sense and feels true?

Well, it is their job as designers. If they do it well, it would be awsome.

Actually Relics of War would be a bit of the same problem, although there it seems that units would move separately, not together forming armies.
Preordered against better jugment, because i like what i read&see about the game&devs...and quite a number of Slitherine released games where a positive surprise (might be the lower expections ;)
So they get my support and if the game is at least above medicore on release they get time
to improve&polish. If they only milk the name Warhammer...well welcome on the list of publishers&dev's that can only sell stuff to me during sales 70% or better.

Edit: T-6d by the Way :)

Good for you, have a great time in any case :)
I usually don't preorder, because. And I only hope that the game won't turn out a MAJOR disappointment - looking at you, DoW3.

I hope the map will be randomized in its shape throughout playthroughs. As they announced introducing new factions to the game, I think it only makes sense.
I wonder how those will be introduced though, probably as paid DLC, but I wouldn't mind as long as - say - chaos would not be just a reskin of space marines. And again, I hope Ad-Mech and Collegia Titanica will find their way here :)

Basically, it seems I'd like it to be Endless Legend, but 40k themed (the combat there was weird, but likeable).
Aand I really hope for an army painter :)

On another hand completely - I wonder which "version" of Necrons will they go for - the quasi-egyptians wronged by their gods or 40k equivalent of skynet that wants nothing but to purge the universe of all life (the role apparently taken over later by the nids)? :)
