muttly13: Is it me or is this stupidly expensive for what it is? Maybe its me...
But.. it has walkers!
That's better than having regular zombies.
This looks very cool. Much more interesting then the original Escapists story. Wishlisted.

Telika: Reminder : The gog version of "The Escapist" still doesn't work, due to a game-breaking bug that is still not being fixed.

F4LL0UT: The fact that Team 17 weren't aware of the bug and that it's nigh-impossible to find anything on this issue, also on the Steam forums, suggests that it's actually an extremely rare bug that is (almost?) impossible to reproduce and thus fix. That it hasn't been fixed doesn't mean that nobody tried. It sucks that it happens but it's just not enough to throw around claims that the game "doesn't work" if almost all players can get through it just fine (which seems to be the case). You shouldn't shame the devs/publisher like this unless it's a widespread bug that can actually be reproduced.
This didn't happen to me on release, but I can reproduce it every time now. This makes #3 more difficult, but it's still a pretty easy map.

Load map 3, wait until 10am, go outside, get shot. I sent Team17 a support request, to help out.

Testing this further, the same thing happens on Central Perks. I didn't test all the maps, but I'm guessing all maps with yards are broken. This doesn't happen with the original version, so I'd recommend anyone playing The Escapists to use Galaxy's rollback to play the original. Can't use the prison editor this way, but it's better than getting shot all the time.

Can you do that? Can you rollback Galaxy to get versions that predate the rollback feature? I didn't think so.

I believe version 1.08 was released in April. Can you actually rollback to a version before that (e.g. 1.0 from February)?

I don't have the game so can't check.

Yes, I just rolled the game back as well to test this. And Central Perks (and presumably all other maps) has the yard glitch in the latest version for me too.
Edit: At least, the rollback works for this particular title, I don't know for how many others it could work for.
Also, it says that the latest version, 1.085, is dated 21 days ago (which is probably when rollback became enabled for this title) and the previous version is only labeled as 31413580.

Interesting. It's a nice feature that is unavailable to anyone not using Galaxy. I wonder how far back one can go. I wonder if they have versions all the way back to 2008. Or all the way back to the first Galaxy? Or...?

How does this feature work?
Can you rollback only one version or can you repeat the operation, going back version after version?
Can you select which version to go back to?

Does it depend on which version you first installed on your computer? Can you go back further than that?
What was the first version of this game that you have installed via Galaxy? 1.00, 1.08, something else?

You select one of the available versions, and Galaxy will update the local files to match the selected version. Of the games that have rollback, not many have more than one version to rollback to, and generally the oldest versions lack information such as how old they are or correct version numbers. Here's Mount & Blade: Warband for example:
I don't believe it depends on which version was first installed, in fact I recall that the Galaxy version of The Escapists was at least one update behind the installer version for some time.

Impressive. Thank you.
