Pre-ordering a game is like a coin-flipping in which the house has the first advantage. Even for that cool Marie Antoinette outfit, it could very well end just in a bad console portation with very clunky controls on the PC.

As for those discontent that there isn't a playable male character, they have to understand that such is the story revolving around her, just as the Assassins' Creed game series revolves mostly around males, and only later in the very two last games, we can choose between two genders. The Grand Theft Auto is even worse, any choice of the genders, all being males, therefore a female protagonist is like a breath of fresh air in all of that inert suffocating interior full only of machos.

On the other hand, the asking price for a base game, which obviously will have DLCs expansions also at a very high price it's a big warning to think twice before pre-ordering it.

Seems pretty balanced now if you ask me.

This might be a day one purchase, I've enjoyed every Spiders game so far.

I love Spiders' games. They always try to do something (a little) different with their settings and while the gameplay itself isn't the best, usually, I quite enjoy their games for the atmosphere/scenery, characters, world/lore and story. Steelrising looks even more unique and interesting (at least I can't say that I've seen something similar done before), so I'll probably pre-order the Bastille Edition.

A game in which the protagonist is a woman can not be good (unless it is a game about the kitchen) .... so this game will not get money.

They should add both to all of them. Everyone should add both.

Actually, that appears to be a robot. And it says they were made as the queens bodyguard, so appearing female makes sense.

I have to pantiently catch up with their previous games, but this has a gorgeous setting. I think I'll begin with Bound by Flame that also has German. I am normally against presales but Spiders being a respected developer I see why they have earned people's trust.

If it's a robot then there's no reason not to make one that looks male.

If you have the spare 50 or 60 eurodollars lying around, have moderate expectations and/or a relatively high tolerance towards (potential) eurojank anyway and, most importantly, want to reward Spiders' resp. Nacon's early commitment to release a brand new premium AA, DRM-free on GoG - then pre-order away, I'd say.

If you do not want to play a game with a female playable character only do not buy it. Yes, it is that simple.
