shmerl: I backed them on Kickstarter, but they don't plan to give backers the game on GOG :( I might buy it here in such case anyway.

Senteria: Source? This is really upsetting as I backed them thinking I'd get the game on gog. :/
Ugh, not this insufferable bullshit again! :(

It would take these fucks ZERO effort to provide backers with a GOG key. If there are any doubts about that, please let our friend Judas explain. Other Kickstarted projects, such as the ultra low budget "Quest For Infamy" provided backers with keys for GOG, Steam, Desura or any other platform, no questions asked.

Please, do let me know if you can persuade them to provide you with a GOG key! I don't want to support asshole devs and the way they treat their backers will show their true colours. Doug TenNapel may be an unrepentant bigot, a gay basher, a jew hater and literally worse than Hitler, but when Kickstarter e-beggars start to act smug around the very people who made their shitty game possible in the first place, not even bothering with a modicum of customer satisfaction, that's when I get ticked off.

Man up and demand your GOG key! Don't buy it again here, that would be rewarding them for screwing you over.

Thanks for the link, I'll forward it to Pencil Test.

I had this on my wishlist long before I even was born.

I'm not a backer, thankfully. But I went through the same ordeal when Tesla Effect was released. Click here for delicious e-drama. Hell, I even remember sending a mail to Atlus (the game's distributor) after the dev's support guy proveed himself to be particularly unwilling to help. After that it was bye bye Kickstarter for good.

A similar thing happened when MouseCraft was released.

Kickstarter devs flat-out refusing to give out GOG keys is hardly unprecedented. Just don't take No for an answer and I'm sure you'll get your key. Good luck!

edit: Out of curiosity, what kind of download options do the backers have right now? Did you also get a direct download link or is it Steam-only?

oh wow. didn't know this could attract such a shitstorm.

i will bet 5.99/- USDs worth GOG games(to giveaway) , IF at least 5 supporters of HATRED preorder this game(and post screenshots as proof) just to piss off those dirty stinking flithy "liberals".

remind me of this bet later, if you will. i will be sitting here wiping the tears from my slanty eyes :^D

They said it's going to be Humble Bundle and Steam (for Linux / OS X / Windows versions) and there is also Wii U.

At least Humble Bundle version will be DRM-free which I can accept even if I don't like that it's not going to be on GOG. They did promise DRM-free release, so making it Steam only wasn't really an option.

SirPrimalform: From the mind of Doug "Bigotface" Doug TenNapel! Not saying it shouldn't be here, I just experience cognitive dissonance when I try and reconcile my opinion of him as a person with my opinion of him as an artist.

EDIT: Sorry, my original text that was unnecessarily glib on the matter. I do think the comic is relevant, however.
Apparently the tongue in my cheek wasn't obvious enough. I thought the ridiculous term 'bigotface' would be enough, but apparently not. I was telling the truth about cognitive dissonance though, he seems like a horrible person.

Crosmando: Here comes the SJWs
Not really applicable until some starts trying to stop the game being released. I was more talking about reconciliation of opinions of a person.

Frankly, I've yet to see any situation in which that term would be applicable. In my eyes it's just a crutch for people with the strong urge to put labels on everything, so it becomes easier for them to discredit differing political views (much like in that comic, just replace "bigot" with "SJW" and you have the perfect recipe to shut up any criticism and opinions you don't agree with).

Okay, in that case I'll have to retract some of the nasty things I've said in my earlier post. :P While it would indeed be cool if they could provide backers who ask for it with a GOG key (especially if said backers are willing to hand in their Steam keys in exchange), I think they lived up to their obligation if they provide a DRM-free Humble link.

I would've been livid if the Amikrog devs said: "Here's your Steam key, our Steam release is DRM-free, so that's all you're going to get!", which is exactly what the Tesla Effect people tried to pull.
The release date will be announced today. Backers already know it and it is not that soonish...

I draw the line when anyone tries to use video games to unsubtly force their politics on others.

Drawing a line - whatever that means - is one thing, lumping together everyone with differing opinions and putting a label on them (and words in their mouth) is another.

Yes! The right reasons to buy a game and support it is not to play and enjoy it, but to piss of a random group of people! It makes sense!

There is no longer any reason to make a good game, just make a controversial game. That will show the SJW's and 'liberals'!..... and ALIENS!!!!111!!!!1!!!

(What have you people got against Standford Jazz Workshop anyway....)
