At least the game title already gave some inspiration for the Games that would make good porn titles thread. ;-)

kai2: ... I'd be VERY interested in this game if it was based more specifically on the Hitchcock movie (I'd love to see a Rear Window game as well!). Playing as Jimmy Stewart would be too cool. But as it is a different story and characters...

And TBH, I don't understand who is supposed to be the market for this game? People familiar with the Hitchcock movie probably will have middling interest with a new story and IMHO after watching the media around this game, people unfamiliar with the Hitchcock film probably won't have much interest either.

Why would you buy into an IP like this? Just weird.
Well the adventure game Blade Runner was an immediate classic, even though it didn't involve any main actors from the movie or tell the same story. It's not an exact same situation, but if enough planning goes into making the game, it's possible to have a good game with very loose connections to the movie.

I do agree with the IP thing though. There are some young players who have never heard about Hitchcock, and there are probably some older Hitchcock fans who don't care about any games. So are there enough people who care about Hitchcock and games and are willing to buy the game?
I'm sure such niche does exist, but whether it will be profitable is another matter.

While I am worried about the game completely missing what are the most important elements of Hitchcock productions, I am also kind of hoping that they would be able to pull it off successfully. There are many good stories in his films, and I could see many of those being good material for adventure games.

Blade Runner at least happened parallel with the movie's story, nodding towards it now and then. This one, however, seems to be an entirely new story with no connection towards the original movie beyond the name and the story genre. Even if it carries thematic similarities, linking this game to the movie seems redundant.
I don't think even Hitchcock can even come with this more modern plot. Also I don't think he has selling power nowadays. The old fans are too old and younger generations don't care about him or even view him in dim light when they check his autobiography online. Especially the part with Tippi Hedren. Boy it will be hard to gain new fans.
