I installed it through Galaxy, hit the play button and was greeted with this.

Try running the game as admin and see if that gets you anywhere, please :) Sometimes when a game asks for a CD it just needs to be set as "Run as Administrator'. If that doesn't help please file a bug report on our Mantis Galaxy bug tracker along with your logs and that screenshot :)

Postal plays with the non Galaxy install BUT I get this weird flicking error saying what version of the game it is.

Here is a picture of the message that appears. Its quite distracting. This on the non Galaxy version, just appeared today.

I'm reminded that Dark Reign asks for a CD too, however the game starts up just fine if you leave it alone. Could be left over CD checks that they couldn't completely remove.
