On the subject of good news. Tomorrow is the official launch of Prodeus which leaves the development stage behind. The source of the news comes from the Twitter account @ProdeusGame.

Unfortunately the demo turned me off, which is especially unfortunate given that Wipeout clones rarely have Mac versions. The demo track is very small/short/narrow and I was never able to really get a handle on the controls, just constantly crashing into things and then exploding. I played a lot of Wipeout Pure and this isn't anywhere near as fun. Disappointing as the rest of it (presentation/performance/etc.) is fine.

Haven`t tried Flashout 3 Demo yet...

...but I couldn`t resist coming back and commenting on just tested https://www.gog.com/game/flashout_3d_enhanced_edition ... this is fkn awesome! nitros, guns, rockets, autopilot, upgrades, career percentage, electronic music, new vehicles, real cities in the future....and.perfect system requirements for a quick game, I don`t know...thought it was a wipeout remake... it's not... it`s a game on its own terms and ideas, good for the controller

You forgot Flatout :). Someone would probably have eventually used Ape Out for a racing game if it hadn't been used for something else.

If we were to include normal racing games like Flatout, might as well put Burnout into the list haha. As for Ape Out, apparently there's already a game with that name, and it's not a racing game.

EDIT: I actually just realized that you're already aware of the fact that a game named Ape Out already exists lol.

Hopefully the trend will die before someone releases an Outout racing game.

For those that have played Flashout 3D: Enhanced Edition, what do the air brakes do? I've tried mashing the "a" and "d" keys during a race and the air brakes do not seem to have any effect on my vehicle's movement. I wonder if this is a glitch.
