If it's something that has a multiplayer mode relying on Galaxy it would explain this behaviour.
I am not sure why people are asking which game is Phoning Home but this is the link.

Maybe they tthink OP is talking about a game that is "phoning home". That's actually funny because the game apparently is in a way.
